What do roller skating rinks typically charge for private birthday parties and what does that price usually include? Do rinks ever book private parties during regular public skating sessions?

I've been to a few parties and have talked with parents about pricing. IN our area, it seems like the going rate is close to $12 -$15 per child, with a 10 child minimum.
Other rinks that have more to offer (with say laser tag, climbing areas, etc...) will have more expensive packages as you add more to the party. As for them booking private parties over normal public session, that's not unheard of. It usually occurs when a session tends to be of low average attendance and the rink could make more money from a private party.

some parties tend to rent the entire rink for a party at times although its not the norm. rent usually runs $125 an hour and up i think.

Hi Kathie,
The answer is really complex since many places have so darn many options and things they add to the mix. There are Regular Party, Super Party, Extras, Some session birthday party prices w/o the long details of all that is included and how you can buy up to a better party. 159.95$ party of eight (14.95 each additional) 95.50$ party of ten 125.00 party of ten Rink Rental which includes the party for a set number of attendees. Additional attendees add to the cost. $349 t0 449$ Rink Rental 2hours for 100 (yet everyone has to pay for stuff and if you show up with less than 100 you pay more money. $300 Anyway tough question |

Around here it's about 10 bucks each and 10 kid minimum, and they provide equipment, pizzas, drinks, etc. I don't know if the ever cancel normal sessions for private parties.

Most rinks have certain times they have open for scheduling private parties. They normally don't close down sessions for a private party, which is why they have other times they set aside for private parties. You are normally looking at a minimum of $300-$500 for a private party. Of course that will vary from place to place.
