Every state has the opportunity to become a hotbed, with a little work
![]() Kudos to Tom, Steve, Bob and Craig (and everyone else that helped bring this together) - I wish more people would take the initiative and start something in their area!

Tom has worked very hard to hook up with a local promoter.
Nows your chance to spank Harwell on his home turf. http://planetadventurerace.com/inline/index.shtml |

This is great, there have not been any decent events here in Ohio for a few years, I'll def. be making the trip across the border to a few of these.

Thanks for the kudos but Robert Burnson at Inline Planet sparked the whole thing with the idea of holding regional NROC events. We really just got lucky to find the right promoter/organizer, Planet Adventure, LLC. The experience of this partnership is really what says it all. Behind this effort are many people including:
NROC - http://nroc.inlineplanet.com/ Planet Adventure, LLC – http://planetadventurerace.com/inline/index.shtml Indy Speed Sports Club- http://www.indyspeed.org Asphalt Beach - http://www.asphaltbeach.com Local pro skaters (http://globalinline.com) and those of us that that just love to skate fast! The day long events will be held in between category I-V, USA Cycling sanctioned races in excellent park locations that are perfect for skaters of all levels, spectators and families. So while you are waiting for your next event, refuel and stretch out and watch the pro cyclists battle it out. Each event offers: 1. Safe courses 2. Chip Timing 3. ON TIME START TIMES 4. Same day results posted on-line 5. Various race lengths in one day to chose from 6. Professionally Run Registration & Results 7. NROC “A” Points (except the August 8, 2010) They don’t call Indianapolis “The Amateur Sports Capital of the World” and “The Racing Capital of the World" for nothing! Being the inaugural year for NROC regional racing, our sport is a natural fit in Indy and with all of this in our favor, this can be the beginning of greatness for inline; we just ask for your support. Man, that is really awesome for our sport. Too bad it isn't exploding out here in California and you would think it would here. They seem to cancel more events than they put on out here for one lame excuse or another.
I actually have been curious about trying to get more stuff here in the valley. Been getting listings from my cyclist friends at the park and marathon runners here at work to see if I could contact the promoters of their events that have great road conditions to maybe expand it to include skating. Seems like an easier thing to do rather than start from scratch. All it can do is bring in more money for the benefit they are raising it for. ![]() So far getting the events together still and have to find time to take a look at the areas they propose for the run/cycle. Anyone have any good advice to help in this? I am no promoter or even close to one hehe. Heck, I am just a senior IT Tech/Analyst but actually was out of inlining for awhile because there was nothing going on to make it exciting here except motivating myself since most people were skateboarders or cyclists during that time. :P

“I looked over these sites... things look good. The Fort Harrison site looks ideal for a 10K criterium format. Half marathons with a 10K are also pretty popular. They should also consider a Pro/NROC level time trial - team and individual. …great for spectators. Having multiple events on the same day will draw more skaters.” Steve Larios, owner Asphalt Beach Inline Skate Shop, Nashville, TN.
