Default South East US needs an outdoor skating Fest

So after GotSk8s and I finished skating outside on Sunday....I had a brainstorm......
We need an outdoor skating thing to be held in the south east of the US. I'm thinking 5k followed by smooth outdoor rink skating with a DJ. Food trucks & vendors.
I may not be the person to plan this outdoor skating festival, but I think it's a great idea.
What do you think?

Default Skate outdoors a thon

Check out Athens to Atlanta for that, Oct. 11th.
A friend on mine did it, she said it was fun.

P.S. If you ever get over to Pensacola, check out Dreamland, a great rink.

I just looked it up. Impressive that is has been going on for so long. Nearly as impressive as the distance. Even the 38 mile distance seems like something the average outdoor quad skater would have to train for.

It's good to know that something like that is out there.....I guess I was just kind of hoping for something like Bay Skate Miami. Less miles and more party on wheels.

Would love to try out the rinks in Pensacola. thanks for the tip

Do you have any outdoor recreational skating clubs in the area? Not like speed teams, but just folks that like to skate trails and such for fun and/or exercise. If so, it might help to get with them and maybe the derby teams in the area. That sounds like something those folks might be able to organize. Maybe.

that's a good idea....although we'd have to branch out a bit. Avery and I live in a very small town. But there is a derby team about 45 min away and Tallahassee is about an hour from us.
We have been very visable with our skates through and around town hoping to build interest. We've even considered skating in a Parade.
