*** The SkateLog Forum Has Been Replaced by SkateDebate Dot Com ***

This announcement is to let everyone know that after hosting the SkateLog Forum and its predecessors for nearly 20 years, I have decided it is time to permanently turn the forum over to a new owner and administrator. I cannot think of anyone more suitable to take on that role than my SkateLog forum co-host, Florida skater Jessica Wright. I am pleased to announce that Jessica has agreed to establish and host a brand new skating forum, configured like the SkateLog Forum, but with a new name and a new Web Site. This new forum is 100% owned and operated by Jessica.

NEW FORUM NAME: SkateDebate Forum

Smile New Primo Deano Hub - V2 (CNC)

Hi, again and thanks to all for the support with my previous new Deano V1 hub log.

My name its Paco from Spain (Europe) and my passion its quad speed skate. Ive race about 17 years on quad speed skates at national and international level until 1994 (last years skating on Boen Special 170 and Chester CH20 Boots until the arrives of inline speed skates) also Im quad speed skate coach at national level and at this moment Im working on computer engineer area.

For this V2 Hub Ive working with 7.5mm from bearing spacing, removing 2.5mm only in front of hub respect the original Deano hub that has 10mm of bearing spacing to allow mounting, this hub, into the “modern” quad skate axles and also in old Boen, Wip, Rogua, Faster, Galaxy, etc, quad speed plates.

For this new design, Ive change a little the angle of front hub wall to remove some material respect V1 hub making the same width in top lip than original Deano and also Ive changed the design of the splines with a splined similar as the old aluminum Labeda hub or aluminum Vanguard fanjet hub splines type with a higher striated to prevent that tires rotates into hub.

The main great problem Ive seen its that working with ALU on this design increases a lot the weight respect V1 delrin.

The weight raise until 63g…

I could work with a design like old Wicked Lip hub or Labeda Turbo hub adding several holes but, if its possible reduce the weight, I prefer the conical shape of original Deano.

But like its a first prototype, Ill work to change the design with several radius (four or five) instead of holes to reduce weight.

Best regards from Spain.
