Candle wax is pretty soft, so it wouldn't last as long probably. Give it a shot, eh!

That's all I have ever used...the hard, white, tall candles that most supermarkets here sell. Works just fine. This now has me confused, what other wax do people use?

well its not as nice as skate wax, but it gets the job done. every once in a while you should use real skate wax on your p-rails or box tho

You get all different types of wax
Hard, for base layering then soft, which is slightly more sticky so will be less slippery! Candle wax is usually quite soft, unless you have one of those big candles which are good for filling in joints in the curbs. Whatever you do, never put lard on a curb or rail, you'll hit warp speed as soon as you get on ![]() You can get wax from skate shops. I still use candle wax, 99p for 100 candles?? Whats wrong with that. |

Try getting some soft wax from a hardware store.
Cheap candles are usually soft wax which is slow ![]() |

buy parrafin wax....its 2 bucks for a big ass block at a grocery store, melt it, and add, vaseline, crisco, crayons, mix well....let it harden....over night...dont put it in the freezer, itll crack it hardcore.....But that is a simple yet effective recipe....
You can also add in WD40, but take the wax off the heat before you add it, and dont add a ton, it wont harden....Or hell, just spraypaint the curb of ledge....it slides like a beasy....And drop in a coupla plastic airsoft gun BB's///they add to the slippery-ness.... |

look, you have what you say is a balance problem but thats not whats wrong with you. you need to hit it fast and keep your legs tight, but bent. Dont let yourself loose it. try at all costs to keep on. If that doesnt work try jumping on the rail, standing on it for as long as you can, then stepping off. then try to get on, spread your legs kinda far apart, then bring them back together
