How about "Pathway to Glory" by Loggins and Messina and "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin, JB cuts. Slow beats, great to beat to groove (JB Style) to. As a Matter of fact, they played those songs on JB skate last night. It was smooth. Please note, I'm currently in Chicago and been skating since June 8th.

Yep Up here in Boston, we could gang skate to this song just great. And the roller-blader in front of me in the gang can do bended knee jumps and still stay in the gang line.

I have never skated to this song yet it is good.

I have noticed over the years that it is that beat that makes us skate like heck.

I like to slow jam more and more these days, I'll get one tune I really like such as "You Make Me Better" by Fabolous, or "Rehab" by Rihanna, and play it over and over until I can't stand to hear it anymore (usually takes a few weeks) - then I'll move on to a new one.

Default 9 11 Words in a Song

Hi Guys, Gals,

Today I was buying sneaks (3) at New Balance in Lawrence, MA at a Boston Globe event and heard a song that I have skated to that had 9/11 in it.

While the DJ was playing I was sorry I didn't bring my skates to hop and dance all around the floor. It was skating music..

Now it was a catchy song that makes for good skating. I mean not waltz.
On searching this list I can't find it.

Anyone have an idea of the title??

Default A Boston Area Favorite

Wow and I mean WOW!!!

At Skateland in Haverhill, MA the top of this song is one our Killer Songs. We chain skate to this, go like mad, get exhausted, and love it..

Yet I think there must be another rendition or Mix of This Song since the link you gave doesn't excite me one bit.

Here is one alternative. A beat that keeps you pumping and pumping.

Yours in Skating, MA/NY Skating Dave

Edit-01: The song I listed still is the wrong one. Not enough continual pump.
Edit-02: A closer song, yet still not it

More good skating music memories!

Foxy/Get Off was one of those songs that blew the doors off at the height of roller disco. You couldn't listen to that song and not skate fast!

The Brothers Johnson had some great funk hits and were excellent musicians, to boot- something I miss in these days lame raps laid over computerized beats. Get the Funk Out My Face is on a compilation CD I made and play in my car all the time.

That Ray Parker song was actually a "sequel", if you will, to his previous hit "For Those Who Like To Groove". I liked the first one better! If you click the Google link for that one, the other song should pop up along the "related videos". Give it a listen!

AEIOU (And Sometimes Y) was one of those great songs that came out just after the disco craze, in the early 80's when dance-oriented new wave influenced music ruled the charts. There were two versions of this song. One, was a fairly lame techno-pop version by EBN/OZN. The more groovable funkified version was the 12" single by Freeze. There are tons of songs from that era with great beats that are perfect for skating. Remember Thomas Dolby, Human League, Culture Club, Yazoo, ABC, Men Without Hats, Flock of Seagulls and Kajagoogoo?
