Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Cool Thoughts on PowerDyne Revenge?

The hype in the sales ads claims them to be Triton meets Reactor... well, I'm very familiar with the Reactor... thanks to you Doc. I've been nothing but pleased with the Reactor. And my Matter Fusions too for that matter. What are they calling their company this week?? LOL.

The Revenge looks very similar, for 1/3rd less $$. My question is... are the looks deceiving?? Is it just a hunk of junk? My intention is to replace a worn out pair of Sure Grip Probes on a Vanilla Freestyle boot.

(Doc rolls his eyes and sighs, "You know good and darn well you should pony up another $17 and get the Roll-Line Variant M. Why are you bothering me with this question?")

Man, you know me better than most...

You got the hype part right... I have never had my hands on the Revenge, but saying you make it out of the same aluminum extrusion as the Reactor...does not mean much. All you have to do is look at the trucks...

Replacing a Probe?? Get a XK-4 DA 45.

Cool re: XK-4 DA 45

Okay... nice hype on that one... ".... it responds similar to a Snyder Imperial...." ?? Oh Really? I mean, you haven't steered me wrong yet, so I trust ya.

Size? You know I'm a short plate skater, again thanks to you. So I can't trust the "standard" sizing guides on most order websites. I have a Vanilla Freestyle size 10. (Season 1 maybe??)

Carolina Blue and White... it was marketed as a Vanilla Bean? Came cookbooked with Radar Speed Rays in Carolina Blue.
Some putz reneged on his skate order at the rink years ago, and had an outstanding balance for 2.5 years... I paid off the balance, and got the skates for $89!! The rink got to clear their books, a win-win for everyone. Well almost everyone...
Anyway, at my weight I am wallowing out the nylon pivot cups on a regular basis, then everything is too loose to maintain control. Even with new pivot cups the frame bends and twists underneath me. You were right.. "adults shouldn't skate on plastic."

The Probe has a 7 stamped into the plate on both sides. Thanks for your help.

Skates.com = $154.90
Connie's = $120.00

Decisions, decisions, decisions. To whom shall I give my business?? LMAO!! I've already talked to Jody one time this past week.
