Default MFND too tubby for the White Shamans.

I rolled these today at a practice which included some cone weaving, some figure 8's, some pack/pace laps, and some freeze tag. They grip like nobody's business. They roll very well, but for the way I skate, they are not quite hard enough. I want a limit of adhesion to be there, and be able to use it to my advantage. I skate Green Cannibals primarily for a point of reference.
I do not have anything negative to say really, the lip is awesome, bearing fit is right on, they were all round. I just want them to be harder. For a lighter skater, say <150lbs. these are probably what you are looking for.
And one last thing, the urethane exceeding the hub in the rear is a little much, but from what I know, they are on the case.

Send 'em to me and you will not have to worry about them any longer.

Has anyone testing these prototype shamans been over 200lbs?

I followed A-towns lead with a report. Kennedy also gave his initial opinion. These are prototypes. If they were available yet, everyone would know it.

Yep, I'm close to 250.

Out of the box, they were slugs. After rolling on them for a while, they did wake up a little, but they were still slow.

When they become available, I plan on getting a set for speed practice. For actual competition, they will not be used.

This is a direct quote from a veteran Derby girl that I let sneak a roll on these. One thing I neglected to mention in my initial thoughts was this: We skate on a very tight floor, fresh roll-on. I did not get to use them on the loose (close to bare wood) floor where I used to skate. I think they would have done it for me there. Also, her initial thoughts were close to mine as we are close to the same size. But, once the sub-conscious took over and she stopped analyzing and started playing Derby her opinion changed dramatically. I would buy a set, she would buy a set.

[quote]
Just wanted to give you my thoughts on the wheels....

I thought they were great. A lot faster than what I'm used to, but I didn't lose any grip. The weight is also a plus. My other aluminums are pretty heavy and that effects me when I play. I would, however, like to see them a little harder. Enough to have a little slide when jamming. Even though I could tell a difference on my speed, the grip was the same as my 95's. Really smooth wheel. I give them 4 stars...

Please let me know as soon as you find out when and where I can get some. I'm definitely going to get a set, especially if they are harder. Even if they're not, I'll still probably get a set....

oh yeah, and their purty too.... [quote]

For reference, I have a tough time getting a good slide on my original green shaman, if the floor is a fresh roll-on. So it sounds like these might be quite similar. I'll let you know shortly

Thanks A-Town. I'm wondering if people who are skating these wheels are over 200lbs. and they also actually have a set of original green shamans that they skate and they are comparing the original green shamans with the new white shamans.

No sense comparing comparing USA cannibals to these.

Well, I used Green Cans as a reference point because the are 97a. I would have name dropped any other type of wheel if they were my primary set. I am not concerned with the relation to the original Green Shamans. This wheel could be called tacos carnitas for all I care. What they are shooting for is an X-tra firm wheel with high q.c. and a good compound and that is the only thing that matters in my opinion.(195 lbs. by the way)

Not to get anyones "feathers rufled" but, from the information I've recieved the "Dubz" are supposed to be 100A. Until a reputable (A Town etc.) individual and testing (durometer) than we'll truely know, but for now I have to go with the information provided. I will comment to the fact that I believe the information and I do believe that there is "solid attempt" if not success

How big are you people? And what types of floors do yall skate on? 100A is pretty dang hard and at my rink only a few sets of 97A's actually hold. Im not a speed skater though and have to have grip when doing tricks or ill fall on my arse. Ive got a set of 103A Uprocks i just regrooved that are perfect...the only thing is...they dont hold on my floor... ill trade them or sell them if you really indeed want a HARD wheel

Exclamation I tryed to tell you! He knows very little about skates! A town!

His perceived knowledge of the design, function and use of roller skate products is sorely limited. And to try to help him will only bring you sarcasm and ridicule.

The saddest part is he is in the roller skate business. ANd worst yet he is living in a part of the country where they can't skate. To many Rules & Regulations, floor guards and security cops for crowd control.

Beware his statements at your expense.

Not to be condescending here but what qualifies you as a skating expert okie? Other than your own preferences or opinions you have no written files or data to prove your previous so called findings, and for the last time where you live or what you do for a living has no bearings whether people can skate or not. Sorry but I trust A-Town's opinions more than yours because he doesn't judge people by what they do or where they skate.
