Default wheel advice

Current skates are Riedell 695 boot, Powerdyne Reactor Neo plate with orange cushions, and Sure grip Zombie low, 92 wheels. I am 6'1" and 210 lbs. Beginner and emerging intermediate skating skills, skating 6 hours per week practicing skating skills and taking lessons so hope to improve dramatically over the next few months plus taking a rhythm skating class the next 8 weeks. No hurry to change wheels if it is prudent to use current wheels while I am developing, definitely have not maxed either speed or agility on current setup.

What cushions and wheels setup should I use for?

maximum speed?

maximum agility?

best combination of speed and agility?

I know harder and mid or high Zombies would give me more speed.
Yeah, know Reactor plate is maximum speed, not much on agility. Biggest difficulty currently is staggered cones but have just started working on that skill.

For max speed you want a harder cushion.
For max agility you want a softer cushion.

Wheels are a function of the floor you skate. If you ever get the setup right, it allows about 1 duro harder wheel. But the floor has a bigger impact. See what your local skaters are using.

Rhythem is a completely different beast because you can cheat a little: really soft cushions will allow smooth long turns. Slippery wheels will allow you to slide and rotate almost effortlessly. However both reduce stability. The choice depends on your personal preference. Most rhythem skaters have their own style and moves. So they match equipment based on the moves they want to perform.

The Reactor Neo is not very turney. I personally would start at a medium, and experiment with a soft.

You might try calling sk8fanatics and talk to them about wheels.
