Can you find videos of the styles you-all do please ( if available)?

The shuffle that some of you folks described and posted is what I would refer to as rhythm or bounce skating up my way, but our style includes consistent crossovers and some leg shaking and ankle spinning thrown in for good measure.

The groups of skaters in the videos are cool, but nothing compares to the all-night skates of the 80's, regardless of where you were.

I can recall standing on the side of the floor watching 40 or 50 people bouncing together in one cohesive group, the wind speed alone that was generated off the floor was consistent with an industrial fan... not to mention when a really good song came on most of the 500 people or so who were there created such a bounce on the floor you could feel it on the sidelines!

Wish you were there.

Some shuffle and rhythm to a recorded organ song, at the "second Saturday late skate" at Skateaway in Whitehall, PA last month. I'm visible pretty clearly (from the back) from 1:16 to 1:21, and at some other times too.

Default You are The Skater coming in w/the Cargo Shorts 1:16

Hi JHB,
You know I have skated that rink many times, mostly on matinees when down in Bethlehem.

Anyway hope I caught you. Your foot work and rhythm looks really nice.

Surprised Corey wasn't playing since they do have that small Organ at the Top of the floor.

Yours in Skating, MA/NY Skating Dave

Edit-01 (22:41): From the back I think I can recognize some skaters I have skated with at Holiday Skate Organ Jam. Yet hard to know with only their backs and their styles.

Edit-02 (22:45): Saw your Side Surfer at the end of the piece. BTW That is Shuffling and Rythmn skating (A bit of bounce, a bit of hand and arm flair, and a lot moving those legs and feet everywhich way.

Edit-03: Ok the tall guy with the White Shirt. Know him and he is DAMN good. I think at his age he lives for his abilities, wherever he skates.

Yep, there are some truly talented skaters at Whitehall on second Saturdays. I haven't made it to a organ skate at Holiday yet, but it's on my list of things to do. Probably work on that one after EWNB and some other real-life stuff.

Thanks for the compliment; I was indeed one of the guys with light-colored cargo shorts and a dark-blue T-shirt in the video. Wasn't me "side surfing", though - all I do is shuffle (fairly well) and backwards skate (not so well).
