Default Ultra hard wheels (old stock)

Looking for some of the following wheels (for a friend)

Red Devils
Blue Devils
White lightnings
Califonias (very wide, and small OD, yellow in color)
GT'S (larger wide and tall wheels)

Or other phenolic super hard wheels. Preferably made or modified for the standard 608 style precision bearings.

I've got a set of 55 X 28.5MM Rannalli Pro-lines that seem hard as rocks. I put them on ebay last sunday, but they don't seem to be getting much interest. I also may have a set of Vanguard Blue Spruce, if interested. They need open bearings if I recall though.

Just for history, I'll post these. When I was about 12 Dragsters were all the rag at my rink. And Riedell 265s. All the cool kids had that setup, with various color wheels. Mine were teal blue, my girlfriends orange I think, or yellow. It was so cool to have the same, but different skates in 1977 or so! I got this set on a pair of skates my wife and I found last summer. Keeping them, to put on my 265s and remember one day!

Default Closed Rinks / Old Skates

Hi Mort,

My best idea for this is to find where the rinks buy all those old skate room skates from the 1960s early 70s. They buy the skates cheap like at 50c per skate. Ask for Chicago Wheels, or Chicago Skates, which I still have, that are phenolic.

One link that looks like you can buy the skate and ditch the boot for the wheels. Stay away from those that are wooden.

Yours in Skating, MA/NY Skating Dave
