Those were a great find! And, I will never again wonder about my baseball cleats which went missing in 1979--Those Pumas caught a slow boat to Austrailia.

Looking great Les ,they are the same size plate as mine , as I believe they only came in 2 sizes 160mm and 145 mm , I too have extra wide axle compared to the original one I have somewhere

Default Thanks

Kingpins look great.
Had a quick spin on the driveway with some sure grip motions 65mm/78A - no more undercarriage scrapes!!
The wide axle pushes the wheels far enough away from the plates for tight turns on the softer cushions.

Have you any history on the plates?
I think I read somewhere they were from a rink in Campbelltown NSW?

Any info on where they were made?
Were they only sold out of the rinks?
Any parts interchangeable?

Default Mine had different clips

I bought my Arena*Stars at the Campbelltown rink in the late 80's. Mine looked just like that but the axle clips were slightly different. Instead of being triangular shaped like those in the pic, they had more curved 'hook' shape as per some Boens axles of the time.

Sadly I chucked those skates out many years ago in a fit of madness.
