Default Pinching your design

G'day Doc, do you mind if I pinch your cool strap design? I want a different colour, and maybe a lower cut boot, but I really like the strap. I don't want to use your idea without asking though

Not at all. Get 'em to leave the lace holes out however...

I appreciate your consideration...but I dream this stuff up for fun and post the pix to share the ideas.. I have a new pair with an even more sophisticated strap. I pinched the idea for those from a Mogema inline boot my daughter used to use.

Thanks Doc, what do you mean by "leave the lace holes out"? I know the Altamuras I have don't need the laces, but I still like having the lace holes!

I thought that might be what you meant, I have no doubt they skate fine without laces, and they would look pretty good without them. Thanks again Doc.

Default imitation is the highest form of flattery ;-)

So you know Doc just loves it when we do this.

I personally like the closed toe design myself. But the skater wanted the open design and personally it came out beautiful.

I like the closed toe also, and maybe a compromise on the laces, top four only?.
Geno the ones you did look great, it's good to see people starting to use the custom option.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but is this the "full custom" option that costs $220 or the "partial custom" that only costs $30 extra? Because honestly, these all look VERY custom to me...

Partial custom mate. Not bad for $30

A full custom is built on a last made from a casing of your foot.

These are just the 30.00 upgrade. In fact, all the ones I have posted in the Quad forum that look a bit different were the +30.00

Same here. Although it does give me an idea for my first (or maybe second) pair of Doc built skates...

Hi Doc.

We also really loved this design and hope it is okay to use it. We have Bont carbon quad racers in the works now, just ordered before Christmas. My husband raced on quads until '94 (when he got a silver medal at Nationals). http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...00001473007146

He raced on Oberhammers back then which have since disappeared (loaned to someone on our former speed team who then disappeared with them). Since '94 he's been racing on inlines. Me, I haven't skated on quads since I was in high school (I'm now 47). I've been skating/racing on inlines for about 6 years now. We wanted to get quads and loved this design. Our custom inline boots, Marcheses, have a full lace cover with a strap, so we wanted something different. The full lace cover is standard for a Marchese boot, probably since his primary market is ice speedskating. Kevin is on the right in this picture. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...00001473007146
Your Z strap design really fits the bill for something different. We'll be getting white boots with different color trim and Z strap - Kevin with blue and myself with pink. We'll have the laces extend farther to the toes. And I plan to put purple laces on mine. Kevin plans to race on his at Quad Nationals, as well racing on inlines.

Happy New Year!
Julie & Kevin Larson

C'mon guys.. It's not like it was that original.. It came from a Bont Sub 8 cycle shoe...

Nice... I recollect he does cycle shoes... Just a short step to quad boots. If you could afford them...
