Default Invaders to Variant ?

I feel like I have read every thread on here about the Vartiant M but I am not satisfied...so here I am, making an actual post.

I have been on SG Invaders (da45) for a couple years. I like the "turniness" but I find I am not that stable when hitting/getting hit. It's time to upgrade my plate anyway, so I was thinking about getting the Crazy Venus in an effort to get some more stability while also trying to keep some of the qualities I like about the DA45. However, I am not a fan of the huge sizing increments (I'm finding I want an in-between size which doesn't exist) so now I am looking at the Variant because they come in more size increments.

So I have two questions:
1- is it going to be a terrible adjustment? Am I going to hate them?
2- what cushions should I get in order to make the adjustment less terrible? The cushions are expensive so I'd like to try to make the right guess the first time. I'm using the medium cushions on the da45 and I would imagine I keep my trucks kind of middle-tight...not real loose but not cranked down either. I'm just scared of getting these expensive plates in the mail and all of a sudden I can't turn or plow stop.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks and sorry if you've answered these questions a thousand times.

Well, if you are not mad in love with all the turning of a DA45, and are willing to turn a little less, a Variant is a logical step. I'd say you have a high percentage chance of finding a good cushion setup on the Variant.

As to what that setup would be, I'll leave that to the more experienced tuners.
