This announcement is to let everyone know that after hosting the SkateLog Forum and its predecessors for nearly 20 years, I have decided it is time to permanently turn the forum over to a new owner and administrator. I am pleased to announce that Jessica has agreed to establish and host a brand new skating forum, configured like the SkateLog Forum, but with a new name and a new Web Site. This new forum is 100% owned and operated by Jessica.

Default Skating Floor Work

I know a guy who owns a skating rink and his floor has had some water damage. He's had it patched up pretty good but he's looking for a long-term solution.

If you are a carpenter and you've done this kind of work before on skating rink floors please contact me. This skating rink is in the Houston Texas area. He is basically looking for the person(s) to cut and lay the wood, sand it down so that it is even with the rest of the floor and coat the entire floor with roll-on.

Thanks!

Googling Houston hardwood floor installers

https://www.google.com/search?q=hous...istate=lrl:mlt

Looks like lot's of choices, I'd reference the BBB and get estimates.

You need a dedicated skate floor service. "Fred's Hardwood Floors and Cabinets Inc" are likely unfamiliar with the demands of a skate floor and are ill equipped to deal with such.

Right, that's why you get estimates, you want someone that has installed a basketball court, or a comercial hardwood floor in a mall, it's easy to spot experience.

Hi Edward,

I'd suggest that you folks contact the Skating Rink Suppliers in your area. They most likely know of any Rink Floor installers/repairers in your area, and about their Skill Levels. If you have a Rotunda Style Maple floor, it's very important to do Quality work.

My local supplier is R.C. Sports here in KC area. You might get references from more than one Supplier, and then check them out.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping to give this business to a SkateLog member. I'll look into the links provided.
