Default How many of you have gotten a ticket for skating in the streets?

Just for laughs... found out last night a girl on my skating team once got a ticket for skating down the street (pulled her 'over' and everything lol) as WELL as my Dad got a ticket for skating in the street back in the 70's or around thereabouts.

Anyone get a ticket for skating? What did they list as the specific violation?

I didn`t get a ticket or anything but I did have a deputy stop me and tell me to be careful because the road I was on was a real busy highway. It didn`t have a bike lane then like it does now so I was at the mercy of the 18 wheelers lol. This was in `82ish.

Default Stopped by police

Ticket, no. Stopped, yes -- TWICE! Both time on inlines.

The first time back in 98 was because it was about 5 degrees (and still snowing outside...at 5AM). He just stopped me and asked me if I was drunk, high or just plain nuts. I told him I NEVER miss a skate day and he just told me to be careful and drove off.

The second time back in 2000 was the opposite. It was over 100 outside and really too sunny and hot to be doing ANYTHING, much less speed skating in direct sunlight. He flipped on his lights, rolled up beside me and only said "seriously?" I said "uh, yeah." He drove off.

I've had a cop car slow down and the cop in the passenger side look surprised and pointed at us. It's weird enough to actually see someone inline skating outdoors these day, let alone three 40+ women on QUADS.

I got a speeding ticket on my pushbike a couple years ago. I totally aspire to one on skates.

Never got a ticket, but got chased off a university for riding stairs. Probably should have gotten a ticket for doing over 50mph on a hill. As the hill was a a 50mph road. Not often that a skater can actually exceed that high of a posted mph. I am not a speedskater and that was on regular fitness 4 wheel blades back in the 90s. I am guessing they exceed those speeds more often than most people.
