Default Luigino just over rated?

I am new to Speed skates, my first speed were Powerslide Puls Trinity.
I was not kinda happy with those boots very high priced for low quality...

So went for some pairs of Luigino boots.
Looks and feel a little better than Powerslide ones.

But if you look closer they don't look that good as factory words e.g best fitting, easy heatmoldable etc. Claim.

I have chaving issues ( one boot higher than other when frames mounted) boot upper did not glued properly ( misaligned), carbon finish very bad, mounting screws stuck by many glue residue and so on........

Anyone has similar issues with this brand?

I think they went downhill when they changed from Verducci to become Lugino. Everything changed, especially boot quality.

Thanks for your info.

Also even their latest model 2019, is even worse than previous ones.
Only 50% carbon e.g Challenge model for 100% full carbon price

Yeah they are made in China no offense for that, but they really should have some quality check.

I have bought four pairs every pair is just difference

It seems only their Name seems quality.....very misleading....

It was years ago, but I got a pair where one set of mounting blocks were not at the correct heights to mount a frame flush. It was almost unreal that something like that made it through QC. It took a lot of effort, but I eventually got them exchanged and I was happy, but it was a problem that never should have happened.

While waiting for warranty claim, two weeks has been passed (still no reply).
So I have bought a Native brand that went out ofbusiness (money problems).
Man I can tell these new boots compare to Luigino are day and night.
No glue residue left behind, real thick carbon shoe (almost impossible to sqeeze).
Etc etc....

When has Luigino been rated highly?

12 years ago a friend of mine crashed during Northshore because the mounting blocks in her Luigino boots pulled through. She contacted the Luigino rep after the race (in person) and they denied any responsibility. The boots were rather new as I recall. I don't how she got her boots fixed. I doubt it was from anyone a Luigino. She still skates on them.

If you search the archives here you will find many reports of Luingio products failing due to blatant manufacturing and design flaws and the manufacturer refusing to do anything.

By contrast, my custom Pinnacles started developing loose mounting blocks this spring. These boots are five years old and have about 20,000 miles on them. Jimmy asked that I send them back. He fixed them and and sent them back for free including return shipping.

Yup totally agree, their words sounds high rated. But in real time it just waste........
Wil post some pictures of my new boots.

Man these new non custom is high grated, take more then 30 minutes at 100 degrees celcius to have carbon a little soft to deform. While Luigino takes few minutes...

Went too big. They were very good quality when they were Verducci.

Yes, I still have some old Verduccis that I love. No comparison in quality. The old stuff is way better and I believe it was made in the US.

Little update, after two times heat molding with tap water. Insole came loose from carbon shell. So water temperature was not even close to 100 degrees celcius......
