Default skates for commute in tacoma

I live in Tacoma Washington, decently hilly and plenty of gravel and bad roads.
I often take the most direct routes, which means many hills.
I'm quite comfortable with hockey skates and prefer lots of ankle support (especially for stopping on hills). However, most hockey skates are hilo's or rockered, and I don't find that the safest on the road.
I'm currently looking at the Reign Helios skate (made by powerslide) for my next set of skates, however, they are pricey and are rockered. I definately want 100 or larger for the wheels, which this does do.
What thoughts/suggestions do y'all have for fast commute/aerobic/urban skates for Tacoma Washington?
A bit more background: I usually use Rollerblade Zetrablades in town, though I have also quite comfortably (except on downhills) used my customized Bont Pursuits.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going; the smart left a long time ago.
