Smile The Choices We Make, by Bernard Gilliam

At the 2017 National Championships, I got to meet a lot of neat people, but sometimes what you see on the outside is no reflection of what's happening to that person on the inside and at home. "Child Abuse!"

Bernard wrote a book a few years back. I bought it. Bernie/Bernard told me about it at Nationals. It's a amazing book. "It's all about the Choices you make!"

I loved it, probably because my home life was not perfect, but compared to Bernard, I was living in heaven. I was truly blessed. But through all that hardship Bernie/Bernard got 3rd at the 1972 SW Pacific Regionals in Sophomore Mens Singles in 1972. He got his BA Degree, worked at the Post Office for over 30 years, retired and is now a head roller skating coach teaching somewhere in the Midwest I think...lol!

And by the way in the mean time he got at least 4 more national titles to his name in roller skating.

Skating saved his life and I think mine too, in my own special way.

P.S. God bless you all!
