Default I'm heavy and accidentally bought soft bushings, use them anyway?

I'm 190lbs, intended to buy the yellow Riedell Universal Magic Cushions but ended up buying the red ones instead.

Red : 78A - Soft Lightweights / Lots of flexibility
Orange : 82A - Medium Middleweights / Great compromise
Yellow : 85A - Hard Heavyweights / More resistance

What do you guys think, should I keep them or return them and order the yellows?

I say stick with the ones you got. Once you get that muscle memory you`ll never go back.

I use the yellow sure grip ones which are a similar duro and I'm heavier than you.

I am 260 lbs and use Sure Grip blue or white Khiro cushions. Once you get used to the skates, you will be fine. Body weight does not always dictate cushion hardness.

Agree with most here - stick to the softer ones, but don't hesitate to tighten them up a little initially, until your comfort level says to loosen them.

The orange might be a nice compromise, I agree with the softer the better but get some hours in with a cushion with a bit of support first, then change the bottom cushion to a softer one, then the top cushion, there's a chance you'll get better balance in the beginning with a more stable platform.

I feel slightly queasy, you two still need to get a room!

To the OP, what Salamanda and Kennedy said. At 190 you shouldn't have any problems.

I was on R3s (up until last week) with the stock medium to hard bushings. There were just some things I simply could not do sharp enough until I upgraded the bushings. Best upgrade to that boot I have done other than wheels. I purchased the powerdyne universal magic cushions, red, and <3 them.

Oh, and I weigh from 190lbs to 200lbs.

The ride was noticeably smoother, I have sharper cuts, crossovers feel "grippier," and turning by simply leaning because much easier. IMO, I say keep 'em. But you could also do what other suggested by mixing and matching hardnesses to get a ride you are comfortable with.
