I haven't been on here in about 6 years. I was checking out the for sale sub forum and, aside from a few wtb posts, there aren't any for sale posts for the last year. I have some og cannibals and og wicked lips I want to sell but I'm not sure if I should post them here or ebay. Any suggestions from people who are more familiar with how the forum operates lately would be greatly appreciated.

I think all the for sale ads have moved to FB. I see several of the long-time SLF members over there.

If you post on eBay, sometimes it will get shared in the FB groups if it's something worthwhile.

Where can I find the FB groups? Do I need to be invited?

Skate Addiction is pretty active.
You can also try For Skaters By Skaters (Buy/SellTrade) or Second Chance Skates and I'm sure there must be others. FB is a veritable swap of online interaction. Most of the groups you have to "join" and an admin will likely let you in rather quickly. |

33%-70% of the posts on this forum each week are political/off topic, if a person signs in, then clicks the "New Posts" button. Since it's not really a skating forum it stands to reason you won't find many people selling or buying skate here. It's a shame, but they need to rename this Forum "Personal Political Soapbox" or such....because it's being dominated by 2-3 people just doing that. Each day....every day. Try it, click "New Posts" now and see.
I come back with decreasing frequency, to ask a true skating question. But it's like going to a hobby club meeting and finding the room empty, except for one political wacko screaming about things. Kinda....not what you were expecting. |

is going to fix that. Major changes coming. Besides, no history on FB. I sometime go there to hunt for something I saw a few days ago... sometimes it is very hard to look it up. That is why I am still here. I can go back and look at things, FB is mainly just a party. Sales are there though, if you are looking for parts, you are good to go. When people realize there is no history some will be back, some are already here, just not saying much.
I come back and look everyday, but am now busy so not much time. Besides, most know everything there is about skates, no matter that it is opinion without much in the way of solid data.... just feel... feel is not much in the way of data. I never click new posts, I just go to quad or open forum.

I am not sure what you mean by it not really being a skating forum? ![]() |

When it comes to selling here on SkateLog in general, most of those type of post have found their way to many of the buy and sell site/groups on facebook. Like SECOND CHANCE { https://www.facebook.com/groups/secondchanceskates/ } The reason was to keep this site from being cluttered by all the for sale post. Yes I was guilty of just that, and the for sale section of SkateLog really is just a very small part of this site. With a greater focus on Skating, and the topics of such. SkateLog is a great forum, with decades of knowledge being shared with in it. It was never meant to be a site just to buy skate swag, facebook works extremely well for that content. But SkateLog works wonders towards the nuts and bolts of skating. its a virtual Encyclopedia of knowledge. Even though I spend most of my time on the facebook groups, I always try to visit here. And refer to such when I am looking for info. There is so much great stuff here. So if you want to buy or sell go to facebook. If you want more, this the place to find it. Facebook is good for those flash post/questions but you can find most topics already posted with in SkateLogs pages. Just by looking.

I've got some Ridell Thrust plates on eBay right now - I'll post them here later to break that 1 year duck when I figure out this photo loading thing!
Probably a bit basic for most skaters on here but might be useful for a spare or outdoor set. |
