Smile St. Louis Style Ballroom Skating

If any of you have NEVER heard of ballroom skating, well this is your lucky day! This style of skating in St. Louis is catching on all over and it's known for it's silky, smooth, suave flow. Here is a link to The Man, The Myth, The Originator. View please and tell me what you think?

This is a great way to show the different styles of skating from all over. I really enjoyed watching it. These guys rhythm are in sync with each other & they make it look so simple even though I could tell it isn't! Nice to see people coming up with different Moves & dances. This is what makes skating so interesting. It's not just about going in a circle. You can create your own fun. I use to look at speed skaters & wonder what's it for. I mean so you go fast while skating?? I tried it a couple of times & realized it takes skill as well. Just Like this form of skating. I haven't tried speed skating again but it doesn't mean I won't. Haven't tried derby either but maybe one day. I like this video because it's like dancing on skates. I hope others show what they do when they roll to enjoy their time on the skate floor. Maybe one day I'll try this out to

Very nice to see. My mom's generation did a lot of dance skating, and it seemed to have tapered off by the 1970s. But is back, with a twist!

Definitely, what I remember when I visited The Gateway City for a summer (almost decade ago). Textbook ballroom style.

I remember a lady (significantly heavier than myself) showing me the ropes and I never could get used to that merry-go-round spin. The gentleman needs to be a strong skater - especially if the lady is more than a few pounds heavier.

Back then Saints Olivette was booming, but no more. First city I ever visited with a "35 and up" session.
