Default After Session Video Blog

My wife came and took some video of me. Some of the video I did not know I was being videoed. So here is the end of a lazy Sunday afternoon at Roller Dome North.

Default Yep the Leg Up Higher

Great Derrick,

Yep that leg up higher is a problem for older skaters. The young girls do it too too darn easy. Also the flat body to the floor.

Neat Video if I don't post again.

P.S. Thanks to your Wife... Thanks and Thanks again

Default An Art Skater On a Kids Floor - LoVE IT

Hi Derrick,

Can't help saying thanks for showing the regular young kids what skating can be. One or several of them will start skating greater because they have seen greater in their midst.

I never know which young kid will say, WOW you are a good skater. Some might be too shy, even my neighbors kids. Yet you know you got a winner when they TAKE the TIME to know they are seeing lots of talent.

I own Xanadu, one of my favorites. Some of the costumes make you want to barf, but the music is awesome.

Very nice video, Derrick. I also liked the roller skating scene in Xanadu.

Gene Kelly did his first dance with roller skates in "It's Always Fair Weather". Another great scene.

Well, I'm not really an art skater. I'm just borrowing the art elements the best I can. More than the look it's the feel of the edges that's so addicting. The deeper the better, but a little difficult to go too deep in session.

I really need to lay off the side surfing though, it's so easy to traverse traffic with mohawks and eagles that I over use them. But if you bring out the cones I try a bit of side surfing slalom style. I can do the motion but I still wipe out the cones.

I'd like to go back to basics and do better three turns as well. I skate mostly one foot then need to drop to two to transistion, how embarrasing.
