Default Skate Music

So I am at a thrift store and I have a few items to check out, but the clerk had walked off, so I am in no hurry, the record bin is right there and I start thumbing through. In about 10 seconds I come across this;

I have had my record buying addiction under control for a few years (replacing it with CD buying but anyway...)

I had to get this. 1 dollar.
It's pretty good, now I just got to figure out a way to get Dreamland Skate to play it!

Like. Very neat find of what is now a rare recording. My closed rink had a turntable when I started skating there in 1989. Later on, a CD player was added. By the time it closed a couple years ago, the only music source was internet downloads. Makes me wonder, was there ever a rink with an 8 track player?

That is pretty cool, but I wonder how many kids were turned off to skating because it was a requirement and had maybe got graded on it.
I didn't skate for school but I did skate for summer camp. In fact, at the same rink I skate today. But back then the Camp Counselors taught us how to knock people down! (Rollerball, the movie had just came out).

That is THE song that has kept me skating for over 35 years.
I still have the vinyl.

My daughter (that will be 25 this year) was asking me about it; my rink played it last week and she just loved it... so of course I had to go get it on You Tube and send her the link.
