I went to see what there was, and OH MY GAWD!!! There were 4 24x24x24 boxes and 2 Rubbermaid totes full of plates, wheels, parts and 4 or 5 pairs of old 595 boots. One pair in next to new condition.... all are very useable! I have found 3 sets of Lasers, a set of Whips, Black Diamond, Eliminator 3, some old Snyder's, Dominators, multiple sets of laser parts, 2 Black Diamond plates with no trucks, and some I can't identify yet. Wheels range from Labeda MK V, Vanguard Fanjet, Jumbo Jets, Krypto outdoor, some old Sims...... and some Atoms plus more I haven't seen. There are piles of bearings, Fafnir, Timken, Bones, and tons of cheaper stuff, both 7 and 8mm. Many dance plugs, toe stops, new laces, .....
I literally do not have room to put it all out to see it at once! I did also see a pair of size 13 195 Grand prix with White Magnum plates....... my new skates!!!
When I finally get some time off work, I will photo and share with y'all!!!
I will be selling some stuff...... keep an eye out!!!!
This shot NEVER happens to me. I never get great deals,..... usually overpay by lots......
Nice!

Default Well used

Traditionally, people post here about their shiny new skates. These are not. Custom Pinnacle Elites casted at A2A 2013 paired with Bont 7050 frames. The boots and frames have about 16,000 miles on them. The wheels are MPC Back Magic XX Firm 110mm's closing in on 105mm. They have over 2000 miles on them and are due for replacement. If you look carefully, you can see what appears to be the shock band showing through.

On the back is a Powerslide brake. I don't use it often but I skate through commute traffic. I keep in on in case I need it.

In 2015, I was having tongue slide problems. After New York 100K, where this was a major issue, I took the boots to a local leather repair shop and had them add a lace loop to the tongue. The loops should have been smaller but as long as I run first laces over before I lace through, it works fine. Next time I get boots made, I will request this, or perhaps some of the mechanism from the start.

Default Mmm... time passes, skates change

Well, back in March, I ordered some new skates. Received and
began skating them to sessions in May. They're Riedell 495s
with Crazy Apollo plates. I know alot of people around here don't
care for nylon plates. Based on my original experience with
Powerdyne Thrust plates, I'd agree with their flexing assessment.
But I'd upgraded my old Riedell 122s with the Apollo and they
worked out great with no flex. So when Derby Warehouse was
offering these boots with the same plates mounted to them,
I pulled the trigger on ordering new. I've since sold my old skates
with the original PD Thrusts.

Also got a newer pair of Sure-grip Rebels all hooked up for my
outdoor skating in the spring... can't stand winter for killing off my
outdoor skating.. . .

fashion duct tape is so much fun.. if you get sick of it later, you just
peel it off and do something new. In the meantime, it makes a great
skate preservative ;-)

I’m newish to the site and recently became reacquainted with skating after a 15+ year hiatus. I picked up a new pair of Riedell Juice quads w/120 boots, PowerDyne Reactor Neo plates, 62mm Powell Bones Elite 103A, and Bones Red Ceramic Bearings. While not the most advanced/sophisticated skates they are much better than my childhood skates.

Hey, you need to post your photo on your Facebook page or any photo album on the Web. Google offers a free one, as do other companies. Then copy the link to that photo and use that link with the photo icon.

Cheers

Those are inline wheels. They can be mounted with the correct plate and axles.

yep... they are called Quadline skates.

I wonder if anyone has mounted high quality racing 125mm inline wheels on quads. There are a lot of inexpensive recreational 125mm wheels out there. They are typically 'comfortable' but low performance (like trying to skate with marshmallows). New modern good quality 'banded' speed wheels costs around $33 each so a set of 8 would run about $265. Lots of slightly used sets of 6 are out there for bargain prices. (125mm racing skates use 3 wheels per skate instead of the typical 4)

Yep, they're um... inline or "scooter" wheels. 100mm diameter x 22mm width.
I find this set of outdoor skates to be really comfortable. I actually haul ass
down the asphalt bike paths with these. Also, due to the larger diameter vs.
my indoor skates, I find these to be more forgiving when I'm trying out new
tricks. I learned my grapevine and my backwards figure-8s on these first
before doing those tricks with my indoor skates at the rink. The duro of these
wheels is somewhere in the low-to-mid 80s. That means I don't often get
messed up rolling over little pebbles. If I'd hit the same kind of obstacle
with my skateboard wheels, I'd go flying off that B!
