Default Trying to Find Inline Skates

About 10 years ago an engineer in the Los Angeles area attempted to develop an inline skate wheel that reportedly had a removable/replaceable hub (inline skate wheel, not a roller skate wheel).

Anyone know about this inline skate wheel or can someone please point me in the correct direction?

Any idea what was the purpose or idea behind removing the hubs? Not a skate application perhaps?

Same concept as removable hubs in Roller Skates. Aluminium more expensive hubs would not need to be replaces when the urethane tires ware out (i.e. just order replacement tires without hubs).

Example of aluminium hubs (these hubs are not removable and not the wheels I am seeking): https://shop.bont.com/products/125mm...c-hardcore-2-0

Ah. News to me that roller skate wheels are available as just tires and hubs separately. Good idea for saving money and natural resources. I also looked for longboard wheels with replaceable "tires" but found none, and this would be even a bigger savings for those folks. Just oversized roller skate wheels on longboards.

I could see certain challenges in holding a narrow inline tire onto a skinny hub or "rim". Wouldn't want a failure in a curve at speed for sure. Don't blame you for wishing though. Those inline wheels are freaking expensive with alloy hubs!

It's a relatively new development, only came out around 1980 or so. (Well, before that actually.)

Look up "Vanguard Fan Jets" and you'll get the idea. There were others (Powell Primo Deanos, Boss Speedos, Labeda Turbo Sprinters, etc.) They made a comeback half a dozen years ago when a couple of people started making replacement tires for the old hubs. Then new hubs.
