Looks like an awful lot of work!! Looking forward to your grand opening, try to post some new pics as you are able. Once you are open, make sure you and your wife have a little time to skate!

I skated Interskate in Athens,Ga. Hadn't heard of your rink at the time. Next time I'm in the area, I'll have to pay a visit.

Great progress! Thanks for posting up the progress pics. I wish more rink owners would share this kind of info.

I stopped by today, sorry I missed ya Tim looks like you are coming right along with the renovation. It is soooooo good to see a rink reopen I have seen so many operators call it quits the last 25 years just here in Ga. Me and I hope other skateloggers will be there for your opening. I will stop by the next time i"m in Athens to meet ya. Ron

Thanks Ron , Sorry I missed you. Once the sprinkler system is completed we should be able to speed things up. We cant have any other workers inside while it is being installed. Thanks and drop in anytime.....

We are getting there. We are waiting on our heat and air units to be installed. After we get the building warm we can start the floor tile, carpet, and the roll on skate floor coating. On Wednesday we should have our counter tops for our concession area. Im heading over to the rink now to get some painting done.

Why does wood get old? I know it gets little holes and chips and wrinkles in it and all. Just curious. Can you skate on concrete in a different way than wood?

I just like concrete over wood. Not much difference in either IMHO. I'll sk8 on anything. I think there is alot more to maintain wood floor tho. I guess I just prefer it more cause it is what I grew up on. I'm sure someone will chime in and tell the difference in either but I sk8 on both now. Long as it's clean and grippy I don't care.

I see! For some reason I like it clean and slippery. But then, I can't really do much on the skates, I just like to slide around a lot, lol

Hello Ron, We are still making some progress , but it is taking longer than I thought. We are hoping to be ready by mid April , but we still have a lot of work to do . Our heat and air should be completed tomorrow. All the plumbing and electrical work is completed and the sound system and lights will be installed this coming weekend.

No, we are not open yet , but we are getting closer . We are waiting on the under ground utility work to be completed for our sprinkler system .. After that , our inside sprinkler system can be completed , then the fire alarm. We are hoping to be open in aprox three to four weeks....

Thanks, Tim
