Default Bearing and Wheel combination Advice

Greetings All,

I am looking to upgrade from an old set of Fafnir bearings (15 years) to a new bearing. I am looking for a nice smooth ride for my jam skating sessions. I will be upgrading the wheels also and would like a nice smooth ride suggestion from some folks. I have only ever used Fafnir with a purple wicked lips wheel combination. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stick with the Fafnirs.
No better bearing out there.
Just give em a good clean.
Wheels..No better than scotts and he makes a wicked lip style thats better than original.

I have been pleased with my Qube 8-Ball bearings. As the name implies, they have 8 balls inside, just like the Fafnirs. They can be had for around $40. I think they will last, as I have skated mine hard and now they are smoother than new.
On the wheels, Aussie Scott's wheels can't be beat imho. I love my custom Phantom wides. On a budget? The white Shamans are nice, too.

Fafnirs will last forever if cared for. Don't mess with success.

Another ditto concerning Scott's wheels. Save your bearing money and apply it to wheels. Best improvement you can possibly make!

Keep rollin

True statement assuming it's 1982. There are indeed better bearings made. The Qube 8 ball is a pretty good knockoff of the Fafnir. Hard to beat Bones Swiss. There are others.

Fafnirs wear. I have a set that will no longer bear my weight well. They're worn and slow. And I took above average care of them.
