Hi Curious ,I have met a good crew at Morley and we all look out for each other and help out the owner whenever we can .
I was probably a bit harsh on Joondalup ,but it looked like they just didnt care what was going on and god only knows the last time they vaccumed or swept ,my wheels and bearings were filthy after about 3 hours ,Im sure it would be much better if they looked after it a bit more.
The floor there seemed huge to me and the layout was pretty cool ,prob needs a coat of roll on or whatever they use there.
The floor at Oconnor is clean and smooth but seemed small to me ,we know a few of the peeps that run the show over there(they come to skate at Morley on the odd Wed nite) and they are nice.
When the Carousel rink shut down they bought all the interior and set it up there,so it is a bit of a blast from the past for me.
Loads of kiddie parties ,if they had a nite for more experienced skaters they would get more of our business.
I heard a rumour that the old rink at Kwinana was to open to the public soon and that they only do hockey there at the moment(but only a rumour)

Maybe we can catch up at the Morley rink sometime,my wife, son and I skate there quite regular and we also derby reff for P.R.D ,skating has become just about a full time thang for us and we love it.
Catch us at the next bout ,look for 'General Justice' thats me.
Sorry about the essay like reply but we just got home from derby training and I am still pumped.

Default A few Closed, one reopened

Hi Guys

Dapto Skate Escape closed years ago.

Woonona Interskate also.

But Oak Flats has reopened.

oakflatsrollerskatingrink.com.au

Also the local derby girls are training at the University of Wollongong, in a hall, that has 3 basketball courts, it is a plastic tiled sprung floor. A bit strange but not too bad to skate on. Some inliners are training on it too

Hope that helps

to hear Carousel closed, i loved the floor and the general feel of the place.
Skated there a bit in '87. When did it close ?
And what about Kalamunda, (my slightly bogan "home" rink at the time) is it still open?

If I had the bucks ,I would buy Skate International ,cos with a bit of TLC that place could rock.

Now just 2 rinks left , sad .

Exclamation Alive Sports Narellan is now CLOSED

...but Macarthur Rollersports is building a NEW rink/ sports floor for their club, in Smeaton Grange- just around the corner from the old one (Nr Connections Health Club?).

It should be openned in March 2011.
