FROM SKATELOG FORUM HOST KATHIE FRY IN MARCH OF 2020:
This announcement is to let everyone know that after hosting the SkateLog Forum and its predecessors for nearly 20 years, I have decided it is time to permanently turn the forum over to a new owner and administrator. I cannot think of anyone more suitable to take on that role than my SkateLog forum co-host, Florida skater Jessica Wright. I am pleased to announce that Jessica has agreed to establish and host a brand new skating forum, configured like the SkateLog Forum, but with a new name and a new Web Site. This new forum is 100% owned and operated by Jessica.

NEW FORUM NAME: SkateDebate Forum
NEW WEB SITE: SkateDebate.com
NEW OWNER AND ADMINISTRATOR: Jessica Wright

Default Rail Trail in Whitehall (Pennsylvania USA)

After years of skating on streets and hoping I didn't fall into the path of an oncoming vehicle, I've recently discovered the Rail-to-Trail in Whitehall, PA. It's a beautiful paved path, mostly shaded, 5.5 mile loop. I'm lovin' it! There is however one small section that is not paved. It's kind of a smooth gravel. You can skate very slowly over it, so I usually start my run there, before I get tired! It is open to bikes/dogs/walkers and such, but wide enough and long enough that I don't often run into many people at once.

If you start at the gravel and loop around to the other end of it do you turn around and do the loop in reverse? Essentially doubling the length of the trail by getting two perspectives of it.

user name: ferretgrl6...six carpet sharks??! You need that trail!!

we usually just do the loop once and end where we start. there are different places to pick it up so you can skate for a few miles without ever hitting the gravel. but being a creature of habit, i have to end where i start. i have an elliptical and am i bonifide vidiot so i do other forms of exercise, my hubby and i like to skate together to bond!

and we have 3 ferts! i've had 6 altogether. i'd have another six if he'd let me! love those speedbumps! do ya have any? underrated pets, as far as i'm concerned. ferrets are the best of puppies and kittens but with the convenience of spending most of their time in a cage when needed... i have a ferret backpack i strap on and take one of 'em with me on my skate runs. a nice Celltei traveler...

'Got two of the little beasts. I'd be afraid to skate with them...too worried about the results of a wipe out as my outdoors skates are usually pretty intense. Here's a link you might enjoy: http://www.ferretsmagazine.com/ferrets/board/

Skate happy and give your kids a tummy rub for me.
