League Practice

Our league currently has league practice every Sunday and every other Wed. with team practices every other week. For example my team practices for 3 hours every other Wed. The alternating Wed are league practice. Just curious how other leagues are set up. Thanks!

I'm not on the team yet. Not even close; I just started skating a couple weeks ago. As I understand it though, our league practices 2 hours Wednesday nights and 2 hours Saturday mornings, with a 2 hour "newbie" session on Tuesday nights and 2 hour team only practices on Thursday nights.

Sundays: skills and scrimmages - 8 am to 10 am
Tuesdays: "newbie" skills - 7PM to 9PM
Thursdays: Skills and scrimmages - 6:30PM to 8:30PM
Saturday: Skills and Scrimmages - 8 AM to 10 AM

Teams will have an additional practice at a time convenient to team members, but we have to finish boot camp next week before our newbie skaters can be added to teams.

We have a 75% attendance rule monthly.

All our practices are at night, aside from 1. We have:

Sunday 12pm - 2pm: Speed Practice (league optional)
Sunday 9pm - 11pm: League Practice
Monday 9-11pm: Team Practice (4 teams rotate weekly, so 1 practice per team, per month)
Tuesday 9-11pm: League Practice
Thursday 9-11pm: League Scrimmage

We are required to have 75% attendance as well. Sometimes they will offer extra practices (like the Speed Practice) so you can add more, or switch them around depending on your schedule. We also have an attendance policy stating that if we do not skate at any practices that week, then we cannot participate in Thursday's Scrimmage. It's a safety thing, and it also helps to get people out of the habit of just coming to scrimmage.
