FROM SKATELOG FORUM HOST KATHIE FRY IN MARCH OF 2020:
This announcement is to let everyone know that after hosting the SkateLog Forum and its predecessors for nearly 20 years, I have decided it is time to permanently turn the forum over to a new owner and administrator. I cannot think of anyone more suitable to take on that role than my SkateLog forum co-host, Florida skater Jessica Wright. I am pleased to announce that Jessica has agreed to establish and host a brand new skating forum, configured like the SkateLog Forum, but with a new name and a new Web Site. This new forum is 100% owned and operated by Jessica.

NEW FORUM NAME: SkateDebate Forum
NEW WEB SITE: SkateDebate.com
NEW OWNER AND ADMINISTRATOR: Jessica Wright

Default Bont Quadstar skate

I recently purchased this boot and am having some issues with the toe box. The fit of the boot overall and especially around the ankle is phenomenal. The "reinforced to box" is soooo painful. Anytime I use my toe stops and just in general. The blisters. Ugh.

Does anyone skate these? Does the toe box break in and soften? Previous Bont owners: did you order the same size?

I'm coming from a leather hybrid carbon of the same size. This toe shape is a far cry from the soft leather lace to toe I'm used to. I needed the ankle support after an injury. Maybe I should have gotten a bigger size than I normally wear?

HALP.

Quadstars use the same fiberglass base as the Hybrid and others, so don't be afraid to heat them up and mash them around. If you just have a hot spot in the toe box, crank up your hair dryer.

And yes, mine are my regular Bont size. And yes, the leather is really stiff. The toe box won't move much on its own.
