Hi Derrick,
The harder cushions compensate for ankle movement. I like the harder cushions myself for spins. Actually I like them a lot for freestyle in general.

I might be just a little bit nutty. In fact everyone went to bed early so I'm going to the dungeon to spin and listen to music.

I know I'm supposed to bend it a lot. It does set better well bent, but getting back to upright is challenging. Well for me it is anyway.

After all momentum is converted, pause, feel the spin in your finger tips, then pull in slowly.

I'm doing this in the basement and the weights make the spin feeel more like I did a rink entry.

Finally changed my pivot cups after buying them about a year ago. Didn't know it would help my spin but it it did.

Entering pretty well, but I often slide my back inner wheel which kills rotations. Any advice on how to avoid this and spin friction free -ish? Little more bend in the knee perhaps? My wife is coming with me on thursdays to learn some dance hopefully. She’s willing to do some video.

I've been doing the same thing and found that a harder freestyle drag wheel and putting more weight/press into the toe/ball area of the foot helps with reducing drag.

Lost my camera so no video this time. I’ve recently been trying to take better controll of this spin. I realized I was just whipping around and sometimes catch the spin good and sometimes not so good.
I found that anticipating the exact postion I should be in on rev 1 then rev 2 and when to exit makes the spin better. Perhaps not more revs but definately more defined (elegant, graceful.... TO DO — think up good word). I hope it translates in to revs as I contiue, as always, to practice.

I've heard it said, “find a line along the wall and follow it”.
But to get even better balance and more rpm’s — delay the head. In fact, I don’t find a line on the wall, I find a spot. I start the body around then whip the head right back to the same spot. I get a lot more speed and revs. It also keeps you in a very tight spin, well set. I’m. a hack so this may not be exactly right but it sure helped me.
