Okay guys. I found an old thread on the Powerdyne Arius, but that was prior to the Platinum, I think they ironed out some of the old problems with that plate.
Can anyone give some feedback on that plate, (or link me to another thread)? For example, which plate did you skate on before that plate, and which plate have you skated on since that plate? Do you love it, do you hate it? Does it hold a good edge, is it good for spinning? Is it good for rhythm skating? What can you compare it to? Do you, or did you use it on a tall boot, or a short boot? What's your skating style? I'm so overwhelmed with the amount of equipment that is out there, that I just can't choose ANYTHING AT ALL! Actually, my equipment is fine, I just have a major obsession with skating equipment. Thanks. |

What the Sam heck is SEDS? I keep seeing it on this forum. I hope it's not Skating-induced Erectile Dysfunction Syndrome. I already have that prostate thing from my bicycle saddle and don't need any more ailments.

Axle placement and boot type will mostly dictate if it's easier to spin on. IMO. Farther forward axle placement = harder to spin on less heel also makes spinning a smidge harder. That's why art boots have a decent amount of heel height over jam boots and speed boots. If you aren't using stoppers a platinum is not needed. I prefer Gen1 trucks. If I were to have a platinum it would get gen1 trucks in it. There's some issues with wear as well, and you need to protect the baseplate with a shim. Also you need to know how to index the axis pins and use loctite. Skate equipment deficiency syndrome.

Spoken like a true SEDS victim (or willing participant). I've decided to just go full on and get all the equipment that my heart REALLY REALLY wants. I did't really really want the Powerdyne Arius plate, I just wanted to become T Stacks, or somehow magically acquire his skills. When I noticed the plate he was on, I had to look into it.
Mort, I just found your information on the Arius plate in the Derby section! Same info I was looking for. Thanks for the information. You're a great reference, always helpful here on the forum. You've given MUCH good advice in the past. |

![]() Check this out. ![]() The image above is press fit oilite axis pin sleeves, then a hardened stainless steel laser cut shim to protect the plate. Axis pin fits so nice it wont fall out. Custom stuff... BUT, the shims work with stock parts as seen here. ![]() I actually did a writeup about this mod on my FB page. It was set to friends only, but I changed the permissions, now it's public. https://www.facebook.com/marshall.mo...68810503142317

ARIUS platinum plate is very good, coming from DA45 it's more stable with high agility
Don't hesitate to customize with cushions, lots of combination are available i would recommand to go for ARIUS platinum |
