Default Front Right Wheel Not Making Contact

For some reason a couple of months ago my front right wheel stopped making contact with the hardwood. It only makes contact when I'm doing edges with some of my weight on it.

I've changed the wheels, the bearings, and the cushions. I've even changed the front right wheel with another, all to no avail. All help is appreciated. Thx!

Quad Boots: Riedell 220
Wheels: Power Bones Elite 57mm, 101A durometer
Bearings: Bones Swiss 627, 22mm OD, 7mm ID
Bushing: Gel Type 88
Plate: Sure Grip Century 7

Hi dsarrafi,

Assuming your Plate is not Bent, then it sounds like either a Bent Axle or a Bent Truck. Either of these can result in your situation - especially since you've "changed the wheels, the bearings, and the cushions. I've even changed the front right wheel with another, all to no avail. " It's also be possible that a Bent King Bolt could give that result, but I think the Axle or Truck is most likely.

Careful visual inspection should catch which one. It takes a Hell of a Hit to Bend any of them, but I've managed to Bend all 3 over my years of Skating.

I vote for bent axle. If so, it may be possible to replace it. Ask DocSk8 if your plate and truck combination allow axle replacement.

Keep rollin

Looks like that plate sometimes comes with a bar between trucks and sometimes not, I wonder if yours does or doesn't, and if it's properly installed(the bar).

disassembling and cleaning, adjusting will be revealing, putting an axle, truck included in a drill and spinning will show a bent ale, good place to start

Default Front Right Wheel Not Making Contact

Thank you all for your responses! I was under the impression that the forum would notify me if there were a response to my post. Well, now I know. I will try everything you guys suggested and report back. BTW, I was tired when I posted. It's the front left wheel! But I don't think that would alter your suggestions.

Thanks to you guys esp. "ursle" I was able to fix my problem! I ruled out the truck and the axle as the culprit by switching the front truck with the rear one. Next I focused on the bar that connects the trucks. I noticed that there was a little room for play. So I first pushed it all the way forward and tightened to no avail. But when I pushed it all the way back the problem was gone! I thought I'd share my scientific methodology in case any of you is so unfortunate to be plagued with this problem in the future!
