Oooohhh, good question. One you will probably not get an answer from him on, but I suspect it was to sale off a few of those extra gross skate parts he did not need. That, and apparently for a bit of trolling as we see from his own admission below.

I don't think most of us were "riled up". My impression is that most of us are very amused by you referring to excess skate equipment as gross and disgusting, and we are enjoying rubbing your nose in the skate and wheel pictures on this thread.

When I see the same person repeatedly buying things they've pretty much already got several of, often preventing others from getting that one older/hard-to-get item, that's the one time I'd probably agree with Willie's Pop on this topic.

I have three sets of RollerBones Gold Lines. The first two because I knew they're not being made/sold by Powell any more, and I wanted 'em in both heights (and because they were cheap). The third set (used) were priced right and I figured I'd use those first before the ones that matched the size. Figuring that I'd likely find something else that matches the color scheme of these skates long before I go through three whole sets of wheels, I'm not planning to buy any more of them. I probably wouldn't have bought the first set of tall ones if I knew I'd find a used set shortly after.

blah blah blah, i still buy and sell, i build them so i need parts, dump the stuff i will not use, and carry on, have 2 sets of skates, both pretty good, and when i see something i would like to try, i buy it, and before i found my prefect wheel, i went thru a bunch, but all that sits on my shelf is 4 tom pettersons, if i ever find the other 4......, but let me see, 3 sets of ladies sized boots, 2 sets of small da-45 plates, not a single set of wheels becouse they buy them as soon as i get them. i dont need a bunch of wheels layin around to keep them girls rollin, and i try to keep the few setups i have for them, put together so if its aclose size, they can get the feel. but i build for derby girls, there is no point in keeping mad inventory. the collections yall show, are just that, collections, and really, ya skate them all, maybe just once, but ya had to have em, they were a good price, or just becouse. it doesnt effect me that there is mad hording going on, i can go to riedell and get redline 695s today if i want, snyder still makes the royal, and i dont think the rollerbone turbo's and bones swiss are going out of production. so im sure not worried about it, also i doubt ill need to replace either set of boots/plates/wheels for a loooong time, even with the 2-3 hours i skate every other day. i bet these setups last me the next 20 years, hell if im skatin when im 70 i will not care if my wheels are shot, ill be skaten at 70 and that will be cool enough. but those guys buyin all the fan jets, deanos, boens, lips, etc then fightin/flirtin over the nicest set, and paying insane prices for all of it, really doesnt add to me. i do see it as hoarding, and it is not a good thing, but yall have fun,if it makes your life complete to have a wall of wheels or lots of hubs/plates/tires/bearings of certain make or model, cool, do it up, but i dont think its healthy. there ya have it, my SLF ramble for the day, cheers, the next round is on me.....

It's still their money and their business where they spend it, and what they chose to buy. If you want an item more than someone else, you just have to outbid them or find it first.

I don't think having a bit of extra skate equipment is going to make anyone's life feel complete, anymore than being so sanctimonious about other people's equipment will make yours...

Not to worry, I am sure we will have fun enjoying our skate gear, in spite of you trying to say everything you could to rob us of that fairly innocent pleasure.

I like how a lot of us immediately justify all the skate stuff. It's like we feel guilty about it or something I have my own little collection so don't take it the wrong way. Just wish a few of you big collection types would be near me so I could try stuff.

Let's hear it for Skatelog!

I don't know what you're trying to say here (when you are the one bitching about other peoples collections ) but I don't think anyone whose bills you aren't paying needs to justify anything they own to you. That's what I can't wrap my head around. Oh well, I guess I don't really care what you think if you're that obtuse.

It says a lot about you, that you seem to think that you are the only person on skatelog who actually skates!

I don't have kids so I have extra money to spend on whatever I want - and that tends to be skate gear and travel to races. Who are you to judge others on what they buy? Original post sounded like envy to me.

good catch on my round robin, i relized that when i wrote it, funny stuff., as to all the rest, i know yall skate, were all skaters here, and im just spewing, ranting and raving in pretty much a 8ball style, if your feathers are in a ruff, you should chill, if your nick, go drink a beer, yall are so easy to push/pull, mess with, after over a year on this site, its all i got left for yall, i feel like a revenge, all pop cans and hate........but im also keeping that here, where it belongs, and not in my real life, where i could be described as a saint......
