that kid and his family are dammed lucky so far that he hasn't put his head thru the sliding door and given himself a 'glass necklace'. What numbskull parent would allow that condition to exist?

Yup!

And I think your initial question was flawed Dave. I don't think that kid's mom is in the picture. Which would answer bjvircks question about what kind of parent.

A stoned out woodpusher who just doesn't give a f. That's what kind.

based on recent comments, his mom apparently built it. I agree though, I was worrying about him flying through a window or door the whole time. (He's also not wearing any protective gear.)

apparently none of you skate. nothing there to get hurt on besides a bad burn on the masonite. the ramps are too small to fall hard enough to do much. falling will just slide out. he should wear a helmet just in case though.

seems like the kid skates pretty good and is beyond the beginner stage where most get hurt.

I do a fair bit of skating. (every fuggin day....see the "what did you do today " thread in the fitness forum if you don't believe me) I've also put a fair bunch of skaters in the ambulance too. (8 - 3 of which were friends) I am the helmet Nazi of Hoffman Skatepark (and the indoor wood park)

A helmet is only as good as the one you wear. Period. End of story. A good friend of mine busted his bean open on a wooden quarter pipe. He still can't taste (after 2 years) Spent 2 weeks in the ICU with brain swelling. It took him a month to recognize his 6 year old son.

Plenty to get torn up on in there. One good crack to the bean at that age, and you're in the special ed program.

That is the most diverse micro skate park I've ever seen.
