It's really easy to build, if fact it's almost as the other setups that are presented on this thread

For me, they are great skates for Outdoors, but they are about 2.2Kg per skate, unfortunately.

I'm curretly waiting a Sure-Grip Avenger Magnesioum (White) Size 4, and also I have serveral wheels sets, so depending on the setup, these skates could be lighter.

I've already upgraded my skates with the Avenger Mag size 4 (see below, with a set of Kryptonics Classic K 80mm).

Now, waiting for a pair of Bont Hybrid Carbon (already ordered), as my next upgrade ;-)

Guille

Thanks wawa !

To be honest, I took the decision to bought those wheels after read some posts about the Kryptonics Classic K in the rollerquad.net site :-)

I like the 85mm even more... when the asphalt is not very good, the 85mm works (for me) better than smaller wheels.

Guille

I made those a few moths ago, to try skating on indoor-soccer boots.

The plates are Diker, they are like the Boiani Star, but cheaper and less quality, with 7mm axles. In this picture, I mounted Red Bones bearings (8mm) on axle sleeves (7mm to 8mm) with the Atom Road Hogs 66mm 78A.

Unfortunately, the boots are not fine for me. A bit soft, and also a bit small for me... but anyway, I only wanted to try to skate without ankle support... and for that, they works (and the axle sleeves works too). I use them sometimes, but only for short sessions (30min or 1hour).

Regards !

Default New wheels

Here are my skates upgraded with new wheels - 92A Narrow Enforcers in Cobalt Blue. Thanks to Scott Corey for prompt service! They seem to roll forever and so now I have to work on my stopping skills. Still have the $5 soccer boots.

Total weight 1.55kg each

Had these Riedell Classic boots for over a year now; I bought them second hand on ebay, but they came with the Powerdyne Dynapro plate but were way too heavy for my liking. They’ve lived on top of my wardrobe.

I’ve replaced the Powerdyne’s with a shorter 146mm Pilot Eagle plate with Fomac plugs and fitted Original 2 tone Sims with Rollerbones bearings.

I almost bought a pair of those. I like the look, but I've never skated them.

I was looking through some pics I have and wanted to post some of my favorite builds I have done over the years. Some are my wifes and some mine. There has been many more but these stuck out to me. I know I have posted some of these years ago in this thread but here they are again

I've already upgraded my skates with a Bont Hybrid Carbon boot size US7.5 EU40 268mm (my feet are 263mm long) using a T-Nut mounting (to be able to mount bigger wheels), so now my Avenger Mag size 4 (170mm Wheelbase) with my Kryptonics Classic K 80mm look as follows:

They work great, and are a bit faster after changing (only) the boot. I'm very happy with them. I wrote a post with some pics and other details, but in Spanish: http://www.madridrollerquad.es/equip...id_Carbon.aspx

I'm saving my Kryptonics Classic K 85mm for some races and special trainings, so I took this picture with the "small" 80mm version.

Now, I'm looking to get a set of ABEC-11 FlyWheels 90mm 81a (thanks to the T-Nut mounting) and a set of Zombie Hawghs 76mm 86a... But I need to get budget to get them, so I have to wait a bit. I'll update you with the next version as soon as I can ;-)

Regards,
Guille

Crazy big wheels. How heavy is that skate now? What's the wheels weigh? I don't worry about weight, but DAMN. Those are big, gotta be heavy.

The Kryptonics Classic K 85mm are about 870gr for a set of four wheels.

I took some pictures some time ago and wrote a post (in Spanish, but maybe you can use Google Translator or something like that if you wish to read it).

http://www.madridrollerquad.es/equip...ic_k_85mm.aspx

I don't know the weight of the skate yet. I'll try to get it and get a picture, and let you know.

Updated: The skate is about 1800gr (I added the picture to the post above). The previous version, with the Avenger Alu and the Reno Amateur boot, was near 2200gr with same wheels and bearings. I'd like to cut down the Kryptonics Classic K 85mm to narrow them to 33mm width. I believe I could safe 100gr per skate (I need a lathe in Madrid !!!)

Regards,
Guille
