Are tires still being made for the Deano hubs? I wasn't sure if making those had ceased with all the work going into the Bont stuff or not.

Scott still produces everything (and more) listed on his website. His main focus now is producing top quality skate products.

I still have the molds so its not a problem to make tires. I'm hoping Paco can start making the hubs soon and I can get some more orders myself. Hope all is going well mate. Regards, Scott.

When I start this project, I have thinking to make a hub compatible with Deano tires and Scott Tires because original Deano hubs and tires are very hard to find. And for this reason, I have made a V1 plastic hub that run right with this tires; but some people ask me about the possibility to make a ALU hub and for this reason I´m working on this project with all the suggestions of this forum. I have in mind, after finish this light hub design, try to make a hub with micro bearings to save more weight but this for the future because at this moment I´m a lot busy at work and at my life and at this moment all cost of project is at my own cost. If you have a Deano hub, Scott tires are the best tires that you can find. Regards. |

Hi, all!
And again, I´m sorry by my bad English. As Scott Corey knows, I continue a lot of busy in my life and at my work but I continue working on this Deano compatible hub Project. As we see in last entry, the previous ALU hub weights 65 grams and now I have reduced the weight until 45 grams but I need to lower more grams working on the hub design. ![]() |

According to your suggestion (AussieScott) I have move down the knurling near of circlip slot (See hub picture in the scales) and also I have remove some aluminium around the bearing slot, in front and rear of hub.
Also I have made a full circle instead of a split circle in the bearing spacing shoulder (Armadillo suggestion) This hub version it´s based in a six spoke design with a central hole for each two spoke for saving weight. ![]() ![]() I´m thinking in reduce the width of each spoke from the current 3.4 mm to 2.3 mm keeping the radius of central circle, between spokes, for saving weight. I think that ALU 6061 T is strong to compromise the hub strenght if I reduce the width of each spoke and also I´m thinking to remove more aluminium around the bearing slot in front and rear of hub, by example about 3 mm deep in front and rear of hub instead the current 1.4 mm deep. I have made only one prototype ALU hub and I have mount, thanks to Scott Corey, a soft tire (88a) to test outdoor. Great soft tires. At this moment both bearings fits correct into slot bearing. Thanks again for your suggestions. |

Hi Paco,
mate I checked the weight of my old style Wicked Lip hubs. 41 Grams. So my friend you are very close to the weight of a full size Alloy hub now. You need to also remember the cir-clip adds a little weight as well. Wonderful work Paco. Speak soon, Scott.

Hi all!
In first place Happy New Year, everybody, and I continue working on the 3D design of 6061 T6 ALU hub. At this moment, as you can see in the pictures, I have changed the design of hub and I´m working on a 5 spokes version of hub, thinking on reduce weight. ![]() ![]() Hearing Scott suggestions, each spoke has in the middle of the spoke about 2.3 mm wide also I have moved the knurling near of cir-clip area instead of top area of hub. I expect about 42g for each ALU hub, without tire and cir-clip. This design is for 608 bearings. If you have any suggestions for this design or any suggestion to reduce weight. Regards, Paco. I have found that the 7000 series aluminum is lighter per volume. Not much but a little.
Mini bearings instead of full size would allow you to remove more in the spoke area. Wes ![]() ![]() ![]()

When I started this project I have thinked to made this hub with alu 7000 series because it´s lighter but I have checked price and is more expensive than 6000 series. I want to get a ALU hub with a good price-quality relation, with a good quality at the best possible price. I have in mind, make in a future, three types of hub: - One design to make in Delrim or Plastic material. - One design to make in ALU with standard bearings (the current design) - And last design to make in ALU with mini bearings. But at this moment I want to finish and run in production the current design before work on a mini bearing design. And remember that not all the people like the feeling of skate on mini bearings. Regards, Paco. |

Hurry up Paco.
![]() After today and machining some Deano tires I can not wait to get these hubs of Paco's. I had 4 differently finished Deano hubs all requiring custom machining to get the tires on properly. Not impressed but hey I am complaining about a 20 plus year old plastic product. I will send you an email soon Paco. I hope all is well, Scott.

In first place congratulations for your fantastic job on your current ALU Hubs and wheels At this moment I have finished the design of 608 bearing ALU hub version and I need to calculate the price of CNC machining for each set. As you knows is my single work and I´m working slow because as you knows I´m busy in my life and work. If I understand right you have made 4 different Deano ALU hub ready to production. I think it´s a good notice for all. Yes, when you have time, please send me private email and we talk. Regards. |
