FROM SKATELOG FORUM HOST KATHIE FRY IN MARCH OF 2020:
This announcement is to let everyone know that after hosting the SkateLog Forum and its predecessors for nearly 20 years, I have decided it is time to permanently turn the forum over to a new owner and administrator. I cannot think of anyone more suitable to take on that role than my SkateLog forum co-host, Florida skater Jessica Wright. I am pleased to announce that Jessica has agreed to establish and host a brand new skating forum, configured like the SkateLog Forum, but with a new name and a new Web Site. This new forum is 100% owned and operated by Jessica.

NEW FORUM NAME: SkateDebate Forum
NEW WEB SITE: SkateDebate.com
NEW OWNER AND ADMINISTRATOR: Jessica Wright

Ask DocSk8 (Expert Indoor Skate Building Advice) This forum is different then the other SkateLog forums in that it is not a discussion forum, but rather a place you can ask skate building expert Fred "DocSk8" Benjamin about building and repairing indoor speed, derby, and jamskate quad roller skates. Please start a new thread for each new question.

There are tools made to do that and you can do it at home... Check the Bay... One size is about all I would want to try... Unfortunately, once you get that one size the natural stretching over time could split the boot..

Here is a thought... There are almost no sk8 boots that cannot be found in YOUR correct size.. All it takes is time and money.. Do you really want to risk it on what is (I'm guessing here) a high end and rare boot??

Default Not trying to butt in but...

.... how about just working some type of leather softener into them and just wear them around the house a lot to naturally stretch them into the shape of your foot, not the stretching tool's shape.

Butting in?? OK by me.. I would not have thought of that myself.

Besides, this whole Ask Doc Sk8 thing is all your fault...

Similar to what I did with 2 pair of boots to break them in.

1. Put boots in bathroom
2. Have a hot shower
3. 2 coats of dubbin/saddle soap/mink oil
4. Put on and wear.

It took a few cycles, but they're nice and soft now.

It didn't take me a lot of effort to talk you into it.

Default One thing that doesn't stretch

Is the footbed. Sure, you can stretch the leather upper and make them less tight, but that doesn't change where your foot rests on the insole, nor does it change the length. How much you can get away with depends entirely on the particular boot and how your foot is made.

Maybe post something in the For Sale? You never know, there could be a forum reader with boots a size too big.
