I know several of you have expressed an interest in the Lazer X Tech plates that seem to be copy of the fabled Boens. Their wheels get good reports, too.
I am considering placing a large enough order to offset the shipping. Would you be interested? I suspect, after shipping, a fake Boen plate (metal) will cost about $70. Metal Hubbed wheels would probably be about $40-$45. Here is a link to their page. http://www.lazerxtech.com/skate-frames.html Please note, the descriptions often do not match the product pictured. However, their English is better than my Hindi, so I will not complain. I am gonna post this as a poll... but please feel free to contact me if you are interested. Someone on that website has a quirky sense of humor... I circled what they want you to type in for a validation code in red. I guess it could be worse.

At those prices I'd love to try one of the plates and a set of the 98A wheels...
What kind of time frame are we looking at before items could be here?

I have a set of brand new Lazer Speed Boots Black and Whites (smack dab in the middle on the floor in the pic below). FYI, the toe box runs big. They are a 10 and could easily qualify for a 10.5/11.. The hurricane wheels have shown up a time or two for sale, but havent seen any in 8+ mos.. If memory is correct there should also be some folks on here who have some Black and Blue Lazer speed boots, I dont remember who though I have seen them..

The wheels can be hit and miss. I have a set of Blaze III and Light Racing wheels and LOVE them but some of the others I have tried have been crap.
The plates are great value, quality, finish and weight are light years away from a Boen, approx 100 grams heavier, but I would have no hesitation in getting a set (if I needed a NTS clip axel plate) if I couldnt afford or get my hands on a similar italian plate. |

And while they certainly aren't Bonts & Boens I feel they are a fantastic value if you are looking for something different on a Budget.
I'd rather skate these than a Powerdyne or Vanilla, just input from someone who has skated both items. Derrick... ![]()

I agree with Derrick. I've skated a NTS lazer plate and they skated pretty well after replacing the cushions. The factory Lazer cushions are utter crap. Stick a Sure Grip in there and they skate well enough and come with flips to boot. The boots aren't bad at all for the price but are almost a full size too big...perhaps half to full size too big.

There is a better quality cushion from LXT, but waiting for these can take a while... I do have 20 sets of them on order, as I don't want to have people being put off by the crook cushions.

In my for sale thread, it's buried a few pages back now. They had Sure Grip Red Super Cushions & Upgraded Retainers. They were T Nut Mounted to a Riedell 811 & looked right at home there.
I've owned two pairs of LAZERTECH boots & thought they were way better than say R3's. I also had a pair of the Yellow Plastic NTS Plates with flips, I think in smaller sizes & with some good cushions they too would be a good Beginer/Intermediate plate. Something to keep in mind for skaters considering these Plates for Outdoor setups is that the Metal BOSS HIGHSPEED plates will EASILY accomodate 70mm diamter wheels, my 62 mm Red Shamans looked pretty small under there. If the items I've had were in my sizes I'd still have them. I think this Companies lineup could be that potentially perfect niche between the "Package" skates Roller Rinks thrive on & Topshelf Custom Skates that take a commited skater & wallet to obtain. If I had a good stock of this Companies products I could build some interesting & colorfull skates. Skates with some "European Flavor" and features like Flip Axles & NTS Plates with Leather Low Cut Boots. Yet still be near the pricepoint of "Pre Built" Skates. Two years from now I'll be kicking myself for not doing the legwork to get the rights to be American Importer of this stuff... Derrick... ![]()
