Default Consider Bearings and Wheels for the Mature Skater

Hi Bob, Regina,

We can hold our own as "Wall Huggers", but, travel at our own pace so
"we can last the whole session" and will still have enough strength left
for Dance Steps "after" session.!
For a long time I stayed on not the best bearings, either due to laziness or who cares anyway, and I still don't have the best wheels.

I knew from many posts that skating on less than great bearings and striving to keep up would strengthen me so I continued the adventure in lower technology.

When I did change my bearing to Bones Swiss, the younger skaters were more like butter.

So please consider changing or cleaning your bearings and maybe getting other wheels as you mature in skating.

Beyond youth which is and was awesome, strong continued application of skills and then some technology shortens the gap.

Yours in Skating, MA/NY Skating Dave

For Central PA skating.....

Miles??? not sure,
Fantasy in Reading is a 20 minute drive from the Turnpike (when we go) http://fantasysk8ing.com/ go to their web site for directions and for choice of session times you may like.

Olympic?http://www.olympicskatingcenter.com/?? may also be about 20 minute drive from Turnpike... check out the web site for directions and session times you may like.

Fountainblu Skating Arena http://www.fountainblu.com/?seskate.com Again, maybe 20 minute drive. Check out the web site for directions and session times you may like.

Default midway

I noticed that Midway in Carlisle isn't listed on either list that I looked at.

I haven't been there for 20 years but am planning to go check it out again soon.

I have an update for one rink, and two to add.

Carousel in Lewiston now has a website here http://www.carouselrink.com/.

Moon Glo II is in Bedford; it has a Facebook page here and it has the address. It's a nice rink, I was back there again Saturday. Smooth wood floor. It's also right off the Turnpike for anyone on a future trip through; it's less than 5 minutes off the exit.

Raystown Roller Rink is in Mt. Union. They have no website or Facebook, the address and phone number (the most info I could find online) are here. Last time I called (it's been a couple months) their hours were Tuesday 7-9, Saturday 7-9, and Sunday 3-5. I think the phone gets picked up somewhere when they aren't open, since I'm pretty sure i didn't call during those hours. Basically, if anyone is interested in going, if you call them someone can probably give you their current hours if these aren't them. I don't really know anything about it beyond that, just that it exists. I'll be going within the next couple weeks, so I'll update this space on it after I go.

Default Rink Update PA

Criss Cross sadly closed several years ago as did the Skatery in Pillow. However, a really nice PA rink was not listed, Sunset Rink in Selinsgrove PA. They have sessions every night except Tuesdays and Thursdays. Monday from 7:00-10:30 is Adult Night. Saturday night offers double sessions from 6:30-9:00 and 9:00- Midnight.
