FROM SKATELOG FORUM HOST KATHIE FRY IN MARCH OF 2020:
This announcement is to let everyone know that after hosting the SkateLog Forum and its predecessors for nearly 20 years, I have decided it is time to permanently turn the forum over to a new owner and administrator. I am pleased to announce that Jessica has agreed to establish and host a brand new skating forum, configured like the SkateLog Forum, but with a new name and a new Web Site. This new forum is 100% owned and operated by Jessica.

Just a reminder that the US slalom scene is still alive!

Also, Skate! Seattle is happening next week.

I'm still a rink rat. That totally inspired me because the kids at the local rink have asked me to bring cones. This winter the owner said I could bring cones in the summer when the crowd is less. I think I'll do that. Hopefully get it in their blood. Any suggestions to help kids learn? Thanks.

No luck. Rink owner says insurance won't cover slalom on general skate nights, they're paying big cash for the derby girls. I did find one other skater there who relocated upstate that also used to do slalom in the 90's in Central Park, so we're gonna get together Tuesday nights and skate some cones at the Walkway over the Hudson. Slow start. But awesome!!!

Hey, if you are really serious about getting cones at the rink (and maybe lessions), you could talk to Naomi Grigg. This is currently a campaign of hers, and she might have some suggestions about how to go about it.

That would be the best! Yes! Right now I've changed tactics a bit. I'm gonna post a flyer. Skate cones (slalom) Tuesday nights 7:30 the caboos at walkway over the Hudson. Can't skate cones? Learn for free.

That may be a little presumptious, but who cares when no one can skate yet.
I would definitely need advice on teaching.
