Smile Long-time Learning Skater

Hi all... I'm Craig and 39 years old... a long-time learning disabled roller skater... using roller skating as physical therapy and to maintain my kid-at-heart side.

Are there any other beginner skaters on here? I primarily am located in upstate NY and the DC metro area.

I would love to make new skater friends and share experiences... and talk skates. Talk to y'all soon!!

Craig anytime you want to talk "skating" you won't shut me up. I don't know how we can get together if you could want. I've been skating since I was 12 and I'm still skating today at 84-----still ask "stupid" questions, and have always learned!!!

Default We don't care that you are new

We just care that you skate!
Find out when adult night is at your local rink.
and start up a conversation with the folks in the middle practicing things
or when they are taking a break on the sides.
Most of us love to talk to other skaters our age,
because in reality, there aren't that many of us!

Don't think top dog skaters don't want to talk to you, we all share a common love. If someone isn't talkative, its them, not you, maybe they are having a bad night, I usually give them a few chances, If they still don't interact they probably aren't interacting with any of the other jammers.

But the other jammers will welcome you.

I knew you were in Rochester, do you work in DC or part-time residence? It's a shame how fast rinks have disappeared, even in Rochester. There are still adult nights 3 times a week in Buffalo rinks.

Yea, us adicted skaters tend to get in the zone. So we may seem a bit stand-offish, but I'll stop to talk to anyone, especially about skating. (My autocorrect made that dating, I'm glad I caught that)
