yea, the 395 white side flap was really popular for awhile, then did a
major flop.....I'm still really not sure why, but there is something about
the black with white flap that looks alittle lame....(now that's just my
opinion)....the white with black flap is better. Well, so I colored mine
in and now I use em for my outdoor skates........although, I did throw
my power+'s on them last night and took em for a twirl......

It is hard to believe until you see it. Honestly, words can not describe the Doc's collection. He has the biggest collection of skates and equipment that I have ever stumbled across. To top it off, he has the knowledge database to back it all up. Simply incredible.

Not sure if I ever posted pics of all my "babies," but here they are. These do not include my first "derby skates," a pair of size-5 Targas that were too narrow for me; I've since given those to a skater in my league whose kicks were falling apart. They also don't include a pair of size-5 RW Clash skates that also proved to be too small, but couldn't be returned because I bought them on clearance. They have the same nylon plates as my Vandals and the lower-end Riedell speed skates, and I gave one to one of our skaters when she snapped a truck in half; I have yet to order a replacement. (If anyone wants those as-is, PM me; otherwise, they're going on eBay once I get another truck.)

I don't have those yet. The seller only takes money orders or cashier's checks, and I didn't make it to the post office today. I'm hoping to get them sometime next week.

Pretty sure my 595s are kangaroo, and I absolutely love them. Used them tonight for the second time since I had them remounted. Even though I stuck with my cheap but utterly predictable neon green Probe plates, and even though I'm coming down with some illness or another, I just didn't want to stop skating in them. If the 295s are anything like those, I'll be very happy.

I know that the Cyclones are going to be heavy. They're also much longer than I would prefer them to be. But they are the same plate model and size that came on my "project" 265s. Those are shot -- three busted axles, two badly cross-threaded kingpin hangers, and rust on everything but the plate itself. The only reason why they're even still on the boots is because they were riveted onto the toes, and my 7.2v cordless drill just can't handle the task of getting through the rivets. The plates on the 295s look like they're in much better shape. I just hope they aren't riveted on as well.

Dayglo, why did you feel the 265s were too slow, too stiff? Or was it the plate? Seems like Riedell puts all the no heel skates as speed and the low heel ones as track. I wonder if the lower heel is faster?

Nice skate job!

The problem isn't the boots; it's the plates, which are too long. Heels or lack thereof make no difference at all for me.
