Thought I'd bump this up. Since I spent my free time over the weekend go through the whole thread. And after reading it I ordered a set of bearings and two sets of new wheels for my new build.

removed this content as the links to the pics are broken, and the updates below are more current.

My camera skills aren't as good as you guys, and frankly I'm just too lazy to clean my stuff up for pictures, but you can bet I keep 'em tuned
![]() Junior skates are tough because the wheels they come with are too damn big for a tiny skater, IMO. I took Mort's advice and set them up with some good wheels. I found some modern urethane on clearance and cut them down to 55mm x 30mm wide and beveled the edges so they don't clip their wheels; seems to be working well for them. I had to cut the axles down too so they don't gouge the floor. My Riedell/Roll Line setup that I finally took delivery of just a couple weeks ago. I am LOVING the long plate and the tall boot. Those kids skates are badass! Good job man nice work.
I like hard wheels when they are narrow, increases their grip potential. Its good to have a wide and narrow wheel along with varying duros. Like 99s narrow and wide, 95s 90s and 85s. Those bones habe the core inserts right? Inserts kick ass. Poured urethane hubs are meh...

The 103's are pretty slick. I slide all over the place if I don't plant my wheels correctly. I love them though, they're so easy on my body when I'm doing maneuvers. I don't pull any muscles with slick wheels. . Last edited by mass_quads; March 26th, 2016 at 01:10 PM. |

Not too shabby. Hope things are good down your way.
Just popped in to see what's up. People asking questions, people discussing gear, Dillo telling people what they should think. All looks normal.

Similar line up to before, just some additions and alterations:
From left to right (All plates are NTS and flip axle)
On the side: Red (96a) Primo Deanos with Boen ceramics, and Aussat/Fan Jet hubs with Qube 8-balls waiting for some old school Red Fan Jet tires i have coming in the post. ![]() Last edited by PortlandAussie; September 4th, 2016 at 09:16 AM. |
