Default Looking for Quad Speed Teams in Ca.

I'm looking for any quad speed teams in California or bordering states that would be interested in an Invitational speed meet here in Sacramento this coming spring.

Wink I'm not on a team...

but I'm in for any quad speed Invitational speed meet in Sacramento (or California) My local rink (Sk8ing Plus) in Ventura has not had a speed team for 20 years so finding a team is difficult. Let me know...

Default I'm sure a few ....

of us would come down from The Oaks Speed club for a meet. Keep everyone posted if a date becomes official. Oaks might put a quad meet on this year also, lets keep our fingers crossed.

I used to skate for Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park many many moons ago. Although I have been away for a while, I can tell you that the meets they have are regional league based. Instead of going rink to rink, try contacting the league organizers.

This might cut your research time down quite a bit. In my experience, the best way to get other teams to buy-in is to keep the league in the know. When determining what "official" rules you will use, you will most definitely need their buy in since Regional leagues tend to be more stringent then USARS rules.

I am assuming, since the invitational is not going to be a sanctioned event, then minimal rink preparation will not be needed (e.g., floor coating requirements, etc.). but you will have to determine officiating guidelines.. and again, if your going to use SWPL, you may want to get them involved.

Good luck, and thanks for pushing the sport. Keep up the great work.

Thanks forthe link Dano, I hope to have a set date by the end of the month. Our inline team (you may have heard of Triad Racing) here in town has their meet in April so I was hoping to maybe piggyback it with them, we are not connected in any way other than I know all the skaters and am good friends with the coach, in fact our teams practice at different rinks. everyone is very supportive about the quad team and some even skate our practice every week. I am trying to get out information through the inline teams to maybe raise some interest and I am having good feedback so far. let's keep our fingers crossed and see what happens.

Thats awesome. Again, I hope you are successful. I remember skating at Foothill when I was younger. I even remember skating at Holiday.. wow.. now I am dating myself. I use to work at Sunrise in the late 80's before I joined the USAF.
I have to do a 3 yr tour in Germany, but after that I will retire and go back to Sac.
While I'm in Germany I plan on skating the European leagues so Im conditioned to skate 100m tracks upon my return. I'll probably join Triad when I get back.. but I will most definitely be interested in quad speed skating as well..

Default I've talked

With two of the five quad skaters at the Oaks and we would definitely be coming down. I hope it is a go!
