Default Rinks, and adult nights in the Knoxville TN area...

Well, life is coming faster then normal for my parents, and they are relocating to knoxville TN hopefully mid october, and I am going with them. Just curious I found Skatetown USA in knoxville, but are there any other rinks in the say 50 mile area of there, or any good adult nights, would possibly travel further, i travel 30+ miles on saturday night and almost 50 on sunday nights, so i dont have a problem with distance if it is worth it.

thanks,
Brandon

Skatetown is really nice. So is Spin City in Pigeon Forge.

Go here for some other possibilities.

Smile Tennessee,stuff

Well: If you have a dirt bike or Quad maybe even riding lawnmower (take off the blade platform assembly,Okie method) Head out to Jamestown,Tenn, off of highway 127. Here is some of the best woods trails in the US.Big Fork Nat Rec area. Mountain bike too.

Real trip is to see the Tobacco fields growing. ANd coal trucks going only 10mph.

Beware the MOONSHINERS in the woods, and if you buy a bottle its pretty potent. Makes you see spots moving across your vision?

The people are very nice and mostly well behaved.

Thanks Okie. I used to be into dirtbikes, but broken bones helped me stop that.

I have visited there 3 or 4 times, friends of the family up in Gatlinburg. The people were very nice, and polite. Totally different from 96% of florida people, which would be a nice change.

that'd be awesome, you can show me that awesome grapevine of yours. I am always down for traveling as well, so I might just make a little trip to anderson and go skating once we get up there.

It's 3 hours and 37 minutes from knoxville, to anderson. I drove 14 hours for a car show, ill def drive 3.5 for some skating!

I gotta say that Skatetown was lacking. The floor was loose, and there was absolutely nothing remarkable about the place other than that (except a really uptight sensibility to the music)...well, you're just downhill from the fallout tumbling down the mountain from Oak Ridge ;-).

I'm hoping to really enjoy Spin City next time I visit my Mom and Sister.

FWIW, I just saw speed skating races held during a Sat night session skate on a road trip to King's Island in OH! Took me waaaaaay back to the 80s

We have been to Spin City and we had a good time. The floor is a little smaller than I like but it is maple and its brand new. Clean and fast. Good DJ the night we were there. A real good mix of old school with new music. Good skaters also. No one could race though. My 10 year old girl smoked the 12 year old boys. They were blown away. Also, if you get bored at the rink, there is a nice arcade next door and three go cart tracks. Between the rink the arcade and the go carts, we had a great weekend when we went up there.
BTW...more rednecks per capita in Florida than Tennessee. I know I grew up there.

Hey, I am from Knoxville and looking for some people to skate with, BTW we are not hicks, that is in pigeon forge. Concord park here has a great hockey rink which has a good flat top. Skate town on broadway is alright, check out their all night skate, after 1130 the rink is empty so it is great practice time for just you on the rink. I have never been to the roll place, Ive heard its alright though.

HEY! I'm from Knoxville too. Skatetown (there is one in north Knoxville and Maryville) is okay but Spin City in Pigeon Forge is MUCH better.

I'm hoping we will get more skaters in the area.

www.spincityusa.com Click on "photos," I'm actually the one that made the video of Naomi Grigg (Former UK slalom champion and world-renowned freestyle coach) that they have on their site.

Now that brings back some memories for me, as I grew up in Kettering, OH (Dayton) & Kings Island was our amusement park!! Love that place!!

I wish I lived closer to Knoxville...sounds like you all have a good bunch down there. Hope you have fun!
