Smile Pick-a-partner at National Roller Skating Competition?

Pick a Partner at Roller Skating National’s Event?

I have been doing a lot of viewing of the 2016 Nationals Artistic Roller Skating Event and to be quite “frank about it” it was very painful. I started watching the 4 DVD set backwards. The last days of competition working forward.

I have 4 DVDs and I think it covers the whole 2016 Nationals Event.
So, by starting last and working forward, events/days skated competition I have looked at 2 dvds. That is about 12 hours of video, all dance events and mainly older skaters.

Many solo dance events and some where boys and girls are in the same flight competing. Some Dance Team events. And I noticed many of the Team Dance Skaters are skating the solo dance events.

I came to the startling conclusion there should be a Pick-Partner Event at Nationals. I’m willing to bet over 100 skaters would sign up. Just a hunch. 50 boys and 50 girls. Pick a simple dance and put all the boys and girls names in a hat and draw partners.

Then skate, I bet it would be the funnest and most memorable event of the contest!

Sincerely,

Larry O

P.S. I have been practicing a lot of dance. Taking a ton of private dance solo lessons and to be quite honest I’m really enjoying dance…lol! All should be forced to do dance. That is my motto. That is how I was trained/got into skating dance and I think every boy who skates should be forced to skate with a girl. Don’t skate with a girl, don’t let him skate…lol! That’s how it was when I skated!...lol And if you didn't like it you were asked to leave the club.

No boy every quit skating or left the Del Monte Gardens Artistic Club. I think because down deep most boys enjoyed skating dance. And I want to say enjoyed skating with the girls...lol! There are lots of benefits with skating with the girls..if you like girls...lol! A side benefit of skating dance...lol!

Some will become your best friend for life. And if you know anything about girls having a best friend who is a girl is a gift from God!
