Ill second your mounting. I moved my boots all over the place in the past but your mounting ideas and mine are almost identical. I love a stable fun length of plate. You seem to have more energy at the end of the session because you aren't having to pay so much attention to "staying on top" of a small balance area/patch. Just so much more fun.
